what I do when I get them - use hot compress and that helps them not get worse, bath with epsom salts, use antibacterial soap every day .....DON'T SQUEEZE.  Another hint if you think you have this is that it looks like there are blackheads close to the area.... and the pus is really stinky cause it is a staph infection.

I still get them.  I've shaved everything down below and still get them.  Let in grow in a little and still get them.

Any doc I've ever shown has diagnosed it as folliculitis (inflamation of the hair folicle) and the medicines never work...cause it is not that - it's hidradenitis suppurativa but they have never heard of it when I've brought it up.

I really wish there was a hormone that I could take that would offset this disorder.  It's so horrible at times.  Right now I have two boils (one down below and one on my buttcheek).  I did read that smoking can make it worse( they think no actual literature)....one more reason that I should quit that nasty habit.  I've never had them on my breasts but have on the lower stomach, back of my thigh, and under armpit.

Isn't it nice knowing you aren't alone though?

ETA - here is a great site http://www.hs-usa.org/hidradenitis_suppurativa.htm

I was told to shower but not bathe in tub. I only wear my bra one time before washing.  Cotton bras and not that silky none breathing stuff.  A little bigger cup size helpd too.
I was told to use Hibcleanse on my breasts which is surgical soap and you can buy it at the drug store   I dont always use it regularly unless I am starting  to have a flare up.
(I only get them on my breasts and for years it was just the left breast - I have had a few on the right breast - nasty scars)

I have taken a TON Of antibiotics for this and used a ton of neosporin.  Have been told NOT to squeeze or pop but almost always do because the pain in unbearable.
Thanks for the tip about minocyclin, I will see about getting some if I continue to have problems

Also, after I started metformin for pre-diabetes, I basically stopped getting them.

I feel your nastiness on this issue - it is just flat out gross and so painful.
