I'm back after taking a year off!  I had a lot of personal problems with my mom's death a year ago!  The good news is I haven't put any weight back on............thanks to the lapband!  My saving grace...........believe me!  Now I want to lose the other 50 lbs.  I am returning to the site hoping for some motivation and tips on how to get started again!  Any advice is welcome!  Let's make this a wonderful new year!!  -Holly

Thank you for your encouraging words!  Sometimes we forget "not gaining" is a success!!  The  lapband has literally saved my hide!!  Take care and hope to see you around!!  -Holly

I'm impressed that during your year off, you didn't allow yourself to gain weight.  I'm only 7 weeks out from surgery, but I see a lot of people at my support group that have gained 50-100 pounds back when they "took some time off."  This shows me that you truly have made lifestyle changes.  Appreciate your band, but don't give all the credit to it.  We all know ways to cheat the band.  You chose your new life over cheating.  WOW!!!

Feel strong and persevere,

Welcome back Holly!  I'm so sorry about your loss.  Moms are the best!

I'd say just get back to the basics.  Protein first, then veggies & fruit.  Lots of water.  And some movement each day.  And check in here often.   That's what I've been doing.. and so far so good.

The band is such a good thing.. there & ready for you when you're ready to work it.  Congratulation on being able to maintain your losses, especially during such a tough time of your life.

*hugs*

Revision band to DS. I had plastics to take care of my jiggily bits. I'm feeling so good!! My results have been even better than I ever dreamed.

Thank you Joni!  I have ever regretted having the band!  My mom was so excited about me getting it!  She never ever wanted anyone to suffer being overweight and going through the misery of having amputations and diaylsis!  She is truly in a better place..........I just miss her friendship and love!  It is hard but I am moving forward!!  -Holly

Welcome back Holly!

I too am sorry about your loss. Sounds like she would be so proud of your accomplishment over this year. I lost my Dad last fall and gained 50 pounds (not a bander then). You are an inspiration!

Blessings, Lori

Welcome back! I am so sorry for your loss, I've been there. My mother passed a few months before I was banded so grieving was difficult adjusting to the banded life, thanks to my band, I avoided the weight gain that undoubtedly I would have endured. It's a rough road to travel and I miss having her here and imagine how she would have reacted to watching the changes. I know she would have been very supportive and that help gets me through. I'm in St Pete, not to far! Who was your dr?
