Calibrating the band and filling to overcapacity?
Like the others, my PA unfills the band everytime to check the level. How else would you know if there's a leak, etc. If you just kept adding and never knew how much was in there to begin with it would be really hard to know where you're at. Just yesterday I caught a mistake when I went in for a fill after a slight un-fill two weeks ago. I KNEW that they took out 1.25cc's because I asked how much when they did it, but the chart said they only removed .25 cc.s. The PA argued with me because she had made the notation in the chart. I told her to draw the fluidd out so we could see who was right. (She does this as SOP anyway). Yep, I was right.
Anyway, I have never had severe trauma after a fill. If you give it 24 hours or so of liquids and a day or so of soft foods you should be fine. No drama.
Take care! I'm glad you seem to be in the hands of a competent doctor who cares about getting the facts before he fills you beyond capacity.
