Belly fat!?!?!?!

Ok so, most of my fat is in my mid section, always has been.  I have "chicken legs and arms" LOL
My arms and legs are shaping up nicely with LOTS of work, no sagging skin on the legs and alittle on my upper arms, which I can deal with and hide for now.  My tummy is my major concern, I love to run and have been progressing the distance and endurance (praying to do a 5K with my 16 year old son) and I ran when I was in high school, my issue is this may be TMI but the "slapping" noise I make when I run from my belly flap hitting my abdomen when I run or exercise, anyone have this happen?  What do you do?  I was playing volleyball last night and went up to hit the ball (was a good hit LOL) and came down and "SLAP"  I know the lady next to me heard it and I was so imbarrassed, what can I do or what did you do if this has happened to you?  Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!!!

How about wearing yoga pants? So everything is nice and snug?

I have thought of that, but impossible when I play volleyball because of the knee pads, I have some spanx type underwear that I wear sometimes but I get so hot that I get a yeast infection in the "apron" area that kills until it is healed up.  I may try the yoga pants, but I am so self conscious still about the ole belly area I would have to wear a shirt to my knees LOL to wear them outside!
Thanks for the idea!  I may say "screw you all I am wearing the yoga pants like it or quit staring!" hahaha

I sometimes wear weight lifting compression shorts (I guess same concept as spanks) but I think they are made out of a sweat wicking material, not sure...........

Make sure you are documenting those infections with your primary or doctor (pics included) to submit to the insurance...........I see the possibility of a tummy tuck in the future.

I totally understand where you're coming from. i have the same thing happen to me all the time. Sometimes what works for me is a sport  type tank top. They have them at old navy for a good price you might want to try that.

My PT tried to get me to do jumping jacks the other day and I refused because of the slapping sound I knew would happen.  I can't even run down the stairs anymore without it happening.  I've yet to find a pair of spanx-like underwear that fit me good enough to wear under my clothes.  I've been meaning to shop for some compression shorts to wear under my exercise clothes for the gym.  I load up the underside of my "apron" with a medicated body powder every morning.  It keeps me from getting any of those nasty yeast infections.  I know I need to buy some type of compression garment, I just haven't yet.

I had a very embarrassing situation with my 19 yr old son.  We were running up a flight of stairs and he was right behind me.  That slapping sound happened and he heard it loud and clear, but he thought I farted in his face.  I was mortified but just couldn't tell him what it really was.  He didn't speak to me for several days because I wouldn't own up to the fart.  My son and I are very close and it broke my heart that he wouldn't speak to me.  I just kept telling him that it wasn't a fart, but he knew what he heard so he wouldn't even listen to me.  I finally broke down in tears and told him what it was then he cried because he felt bad for not believing me when I promised that it wasn't a fart.

I know the compression shorts should work, I just haven't gone shopping for any.  I'm to the point now where this weight isn't coming off fast enough so I can have my TT.

If there's a Lane Bryant or Avenue near you, I'd recommend the compression undies with the medicated powder (the one I use is from Walmart & called Zeabsorb - to help avoid the yeasties.  Another option would be bike shorts - they have compression & you can always wear a loser pair over top of them.  It's an 80's thing, but hey!  They're even back in style!  Best of all worlds.
