Dr. said band to sleeve surgery is pointless. Said little weight is lost if any and regain is much

I had the LAP-BAND surgery February 2012 and have maintained my one hundred pound weight loss!

This article seems to disagree. It says the sleeve should be as effective as the lap band.

After I had the band removed I decided to go with the gastric bypass instead of the sleeve. I wanted to have some malabsoprtion for weight loss. I don't believe the sleeve offers malabsorption. 

Hogwash.  I had the band about 10 years ago and it worked for a year and then made me awfully ill for the next year.  Removed it and revised to the sleeve and have never looked back!  I lost 75 with the band, gained back about 30 of that, and now maintaining a 100lb loss with the sleeve with little issue.  Your doctor is ludicrous :)
