Never heard of a thicker saline for a leak. If it is a leak you may have to have a surgery to replace the tubing. What has your surgeon said regarding this? Have you been able to speak with him yet?

Well I had the band removed on the 28th of last month. OMG 4 lap incisions and 2 4 inch ones because he could not get the port out of the first one. now for the first couple weeks from surgery I was getting better but now I'm having a stabbing pain in my region of my belly button when I gave to move and OMG don't sneeze I think I have a hernia going to a DR tomorrow for now I put a large wrap around my stomach to help with the pain. I don't trust my surgeon, hopefully the other dr will help me out.

Topic: Thicker saline?

Has anyone heard of a thicker saline to plug a very slow leak. I get a fill and 4 weeks later it's gone.

I had no trouble for 7 years. Went for a small fill with a new PA, and he banged around trying to

find the port. I'm sure this is what happened. I don't want more surgery.

Have any of you tried thicker saline first?

Topic: RE: post lap band weight gain

I just signed on to this forum. I have had my lap band for 4 years, was able to stay at goal weight and below until this past few months. I can relate to your problem. Am having trouble eating salads, eggs, protein, but am able to eat the junk. I find that i don't have restriction when i eat the junk but have some when i eat the protein and salad. I may be too tight. Am thinking of going back to surgeon to talk to him about this. Ive gained back 14 pounds. I am very depressed. Cant seem to stay on the low carb diet. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

I remember you from the way back days!! I can't say about your surgery for removal but it is an easy surgery mine only took about 15 min. and healed quickly. Best thing I ever did for myself was get rid of that demon band!

Hooray I'm so happy for you!!! You are going to be so much happier with the sleeve, I just know it. You will lose weight and be able to eat real food again just less of it. I'll be praying for a complete success. The surgery is not bad at all, even easier than having it put in. I'm so excited for you!!

If reflux is an issue you would do best to revise to RNY as the sleeve is not advised for reflux situations. Many of us had very little weight loss with the band and have had some serious problems because of the band so the sooner you can get it removed the better off you will be. Good luck to you!

Hi! I was banded in 2008, and revised to a RNY this past December 2014. BEST decision I ever made. night and day. I've lost 109 lbs so far...with another 15 to go. No reflux, no getting stuck, no vomiting. I so happy....and knowing what I know now, can't believe I lived with the band and its issues as long as I did.

Banded 12/18/08.  Band removed and revision to RNY on 12/15/14.

So happy for you Karen! I know you have been frustrated for several years and have tried everything. I think this will be fabulous for you. We got our band when they were fairly new and hoped for the best. I would have opted for the sleeve myself back then to avoid all the follow up visits. I haven't had any problems so far thank goodness. Keep us posted. You are just about a month away from the surgery. I guess those awful protein shakes will start up soon enough. You will be delighted with the results and glad to be rid of the symptoms you have been having. Soooo happy for you. Good luck.
