Topic: Trouble help me please

Hello my name is Lacey I was banded June 24, 2014! I started at 243 and am at 208 today. I had 9cc in band and Monday I had 4 taken out. For the last three months I have plateaued due to stupidity I keep eating sliders which is carbs carbs carbs. I wanted a break so I had 4cc removed. I now understand the mental part of this journey and I feel like an utter failure. I can't stick to diet I feel like all my will power is at 0 and I don't know y. I wanted to get sleeve but I couldnt take the time off for work because I work in oilfield in south Texas as a truck driver and well we don't get much x off. Anyone who can help me get my life on track I would love to hear your story if u had a similar problem. Any advice I would like please please help me fight this battle!

Kate is correct we are just the same as normal folks as far as meds and vitamins go we absorb everything just fine. Some surgeons just cut costs by giving out the same information for all surgeries. I don't understand why because it is very misleading to those of us who aren't affected by malabsorbtion.

They are!  As long as they are small enough to swallow without cutting, there is no problem at all. Our digestive systems are unchanged! We don't malabsorb anything.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I agree with HisLady!  It is time to get a new doctor.  It is irresponsible of the doctor not to record what he has done in your medicals.  If you really like this doctor then at minimum when you see him do NOT leave the office/exam room until he notes it in your record.  Insist upon it being done before you leave.

I had the LAP-Band in 2012 and I'm wondering if someone can explain why SR & ER medications are not permissible.   For those considering surgery, I am very pleased with my results.  I lost 60 pounds...

Best of luck to you! I had my band removed back in 2005, so my memory is a little rusty, but I don't think the recuperation from band removal was nearly as bad as when I had the initial band surgery. I felt SO much better after it was out of my body, it was like night and day.

I think you'll be just fine by your vacation on May 24th. Just take it easy and heal up... drink liquids, take your pain medication, don't overdo.  I know I sound like I'm being a bossy mom.

I had mine removed a year ago and it was a pretty easy surgery. Took about 20 min for removal. Recovery was about a week very little pain involved. Some folks have longer pain around the port incision but usually not too bad. You should be fine for vacation, it is a very easy surgery. You will feel so good getting it out!!!!
