First don't freak out that will just make the band tighter.  Not something you want right now.  Your best bet like others have said soup and salad.  I don't know if you like fish, but maybe a white fish with a newburg or somekind of sauce on it to make it "slide" down easier.  Does drinking something warm help you at all to open a bit?  You could order a tea or something warm to help you along.  Your not to tight were your not eating enough or relying on soft foods are you?  I can't think of anything else right now. My initial surgeon was awesome, unfortunatly he passed away this weekend.  I do have an awesome follow-up surgeon here in the states.  Dr. Phol has been great.  I never had any problems and he has always called me back very quickly if I had a question.  I think the best thing is for me personally.  He accepts my medical insurance so I only pay a co-pay for fills.  I wish everyone had that option.  How are you feeling today naomi? Naomi, That's a bummer, but I know how your feeling right now.  I woke up this morning with a headache and a half and now my eyes keep watering up, my sinuses are feeling funky not a good time to be sick.  As for the ginger ale open it and leave it to get flat it will make you feel better.  No carbonaiton in it so no bubbles.  My mom used to do that when I was kid worked well.  I hope you feel better.

Patti, I was banded by Dr. Sanchez three years ago and was an incrediable man.  I wonder if he wasn't set-up.  From what I read he had gotten out of his truck to open a gate when two men confronted him started shout at him and then shot him a few times.  I really hope it had nothing to do with him leaving the company he was affiliated with.  He will be missed by many.  Jenn

First take a deep breath.  Calm yourself down.  So we all agree that you need to find a new doctor ok fine, but right now you have to look at your progress and think about how you got there.  By your ticker you have lost 70lbs.  That is great.  How did you do it?  Was it all the band or before this fill incident, were you watching what you were eating, drinking, how much exercise are or were you doing.  Small changes in your diet and exercise can make such a huge difference.   Don't worry about the fill so much I know easier said than done.  Just think about changes you can make before your next appointment.  Jenn

Hi Sandy, I'm looking for the paperwork that I was given to see what size band.  If I have to I'll call my doctor here he has a copy of everything Dr. S. had given me before I left.  I 'm not worried or concerned at all.  I think there may be more to the story. Jenn

Patti, I have the 10cc band, but I don't think its the VG one.  I have the forms at home with what band was placed I will look at them tonight for you.  I have not had one problem with the band it self.  Just a flipped port.  I have 3.75cc's in my band and if I go much higher I get tight and have reflux.  I've seen my band under fluro and everything always looks great and my follow-up doctor here has always commented on what a great job the surgeon did and agreed that he placed the right size band for me.  Don't panic your going to be fine.  The band will work regardless of what size was placed.  I would have your follow-up doctor do a fluro with baruim to get you to a good fill. Its a very easy fix.  I had mine done this past January.  It took a whole 15 mins.  You are kind of knocked out where you don't remember anything.  Your sore in the port area, but nothing like the initial surgery.  It happens a lot more that people think.    Jenn

Hey Robin,  I know its hard, but it can and does get better.  Are you exercising at all?  I know that when I use my treadmill or bike I see the pounds start to drop again.  You have to remember your body gets adjusted to the amounts of food your eating and how much your moving your body.  Maybe try mixing it up some.  For a week or two write down what your eating it may help with your food choices.

For any of you horse people out there the Equine Affair is coming to MA this week and I finally get to go.  I've been waiting all year for it since I couldn't go last year.  From what I've been told its a long day with alot of walking so I am going to buy new sneakers tonight and get my pedometer ready for Saturday.  If I play my cards right I should be able to walk off a couple of pounds.   I've started back on the band wagon since last Thursday.  I went to the doctors and I had gained a little weight over the summer, so I've started working out every morning and writing everything down that I eat.  I'm hoping to get to 200 by January 1st.  Jenn

The incisions will "drain" a little.  What your describing is the same as I had three years ago.  The incision is healing.  If you start getting pain or yellow, green discharge then I would call your doctor.  The port incision does take longer to heal.

Not a penny.  My daughter is 14 and going out with my sister, niece and nephews.  My street is pretty quiet and I haven't had any trick or treaters in the two years we've lived here so I just bought extra nutragrain bars.  I figure if we do get someone they can have something healthy.   Jenn

Topic: RE: Question on food for Holidays....
Chew Chew Chew.  I just made a turkey dinner last weekend.  Sometimes I can't wait till the holidays.  I made turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mashed turnip, butternut squash and gravy.  I cut the turkey (white meat) up in as small of pieces as I could.  Put some gravy on it and let it sit a couple of minutes.  Potatoes are no issue for me so I had a little of that with gravy, and some of the turnip and squash.  I know this sounds odd since everything was mashed or chopped up, but I chewed it until it was liquid.  I'm three years out and I still chew.  I know all to well what happens when I don't.  Maybe also offer to bring a dish something festive, but also something YOU can eat with no problems.  I even sneak a bite of the cheesecake and pumpkin pie. Topic: RE: Feeling bummed out for a friend
A former co-worker of mine (now good friend)  who got the band a year ago August just informed me that she needs to have her band removed.  It slipped.  I know over the summer she was having problems off and on with throwing up and  went in for an unfill.  She also told me that when she went to the doctors his assistant kept telling her that she was fine and nothing was wrong after she got the unfill and was having acid reflux and heartburn.  She started waking up with the taste of blood in her mouth and finally said listen something is not right.  After two baruim swallows it showed she had a slipped band.  I feel so bad for her.  I almost feel like it was my fault she saw how good I was doing being banded and when through the whole process and it took longer for her to get approved and things and now this.  I hope it all works out for her and she can get it back again.  She did lose about 80lbs. I'm with ya gals.  I love summer, but hate shaving.  I hate winter, but love not to have to shave.  A friend of mine is Jamaican and she has never shaved her legs.  I'm almost jealous of her because of it.  Oh and I did try waxing them once.  Had to wait almost three weeks so the length was good and OMG I will never on God's green earth ever do that again.  I can handle my eyebrow, chin, and heck my upper lip, but not my legs.  I can't even imagine waxing anywhere else.  Jenn
