I am home from Hopkins

Dr. Gandsas sent me to Johns Hopkins Hospital today.  I saw Dr. Okolo there, he is a Gastroenterologist.  He did a EGD today (endoscope).  There was a stricture at the bottom of my esophagus, so he had to dilated that.  Then when I woke he told me that my esophagus is not working, the muscle are not letting me swallow the way that I should.  So I have to take a medicine call Domperidone that you can only get in Canada. So if anyone has info on ordering meds from Canada let me know.  I do plan to call Dr. Okolo's office tomorrow and they can help me with that.  I will have to drink this liquid 30min before eating every meal.  So this should be fun but it will be worth it and no throwing up. Wahoooo, the little things that make us happy.  My throat is really sore and I need to get some rest.  This is still a lot to soak up.  I am still thinking possitive cause this too will pass.  There are worse things so I can deal with this, once I figure out how to get hold of a pharmacy in Canada.  I am off to bed! Hi Kristen, I am so glad the they figured out your problem.  I hope and pray you can get this medicine.  I have a friend that lives in Canada let me know if you want me to ask her if she can find this med for you.   Please rest and take very good care of yourself. hugs,  

Did your dr. write out a prescription for it?  I asked my friend and she says it is by RX only and she had it or her daughter after she had a liver transplant last year.

Dr. Okolo gave me a written prescription but check out my post on the main board, now I am scared and think I need to talk to Dr. G and Dr. Okolo about this.  I don't need to go to jail but I do need to swallow.  This is the first time on OH someone has made me feel bad, it did not know about the med. 

Kristen, I rarely post on the main board because over there is a lot of people who are insensitive and love to shake their fingers at people and a lot of times everything is said through ther Butt!  I am sorry but it is true.   Especially the one with the med that is given to the horses.  There are to versions for animals and for humans.  Now I know this 17 year old that cystic fibrosis and had liver disease and needed a transplant. She was given this medicine for the nausea and stuff.  She just turned 18 and is doing great.  She is not lactating lol the med did it's purpose.    Talk to the gastro and if you decide to try it out anyway let me know.  My friend Jen is going to call her pharmacy and ask about how to go about with the prescription she will find out the price and also if they have a liquid form of this medicine.  She says the pills are tiny.   I have learned to stay away from the main board they are sometimes very negative and I have no time for them.    Take care and I hope you feel better let me know what the gastro says tomorrow.   Hugs, 

Cira thank you, I have learned my lesson.  I was thinking it would help me to find someone else that has taken the med.  I did find someone and she told me of a pharmacy but all that other crap was not needed.  I had no clue about the med and now I can tell you inside and out.  Please let me know what your friend finds out.  I think I am going to get this.  Reglan has too many side effects and this one looks better.  You know I was thinking, I took the Reglan for 1 1/2 weeks after surgery and then I started to feel bad when I was not taking the med.  Domperidone is just like reglan but less side effects.  I do have some questions for the doctors tomorrow. Cira  I dont think those meds will stimulate the esophagus enough but I am still going to check into it.  I am still thinking that the Reglan my not be a bad idea.  I see Dr. G tomorrow. Hugs Kristen WOW my throat is sore today
