Help...My insulation is gone!
LOL...here is a side effect that was never mentioned in the pre-op literature I read. I am freezing! Now that my insulation is gone, I can't get warm. I used to think all those skinny people were just complainers...but geez was I wrong! My hands are never warm. I wear at least two shirts and one is usually a turtleneck. I had to buy a very warm winter coat. I wear heavy socks. I need hats that cover my ears. With this cold snap, I have been putting sweaters over my two shirts and long johns under my pants. I have gotten a heated mattress pad (a wonderful thing that I thought was complete lunacy about a year ago) and use it every night. Last year, around this time, I would wear shorts and a tee-shirt around the house. I rarely needed anything more than a light jacket and I wore short sleeve sport shirts to work throughout the winter. This year, for the first time since I was a kid, I put clothes away for the winter. I don't wear my shorts (except a few pairs I save for the gym) and all my short sleeve sport shirts are useless. I would turn into a popsicle if I wore them right now. Amazing how a year and losing 165 pounds can change your perspective! Hope everyone had a great holiday and has a safe and prosperous new year!

Every morning in
I've seen many of us women post about always being cold post op but never one of the guys!!! But there's no reason why the same things that make us gals cold wouldn't also affect you too. For the most part, I'm generally pretty comfy now (of course, I'm one of those women of an age of hot flashes .. so the flashes balance out the cold spots sometimes), but I do find that when I'm not having a flash .. I am really COLD!!!!
Hugs, Mo Comparison is the thief of joy!
If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
