3 THINGS FOR TUESDAY!

Today, I know we're all grateful that it's not Monday (although it sure feels like it!).  Hope everyone had a good long weekend.  We had a nice time with the family yesterday - well, everyone's still alive, at least!!! So today: 1.  That the drive-thru people at Dunkin Donuts recognize my voice as soon as I say, "Good morning!" because they immediately have my coffee ready!!!   2.  That my brother and I are like peas 'n carrots - He's dealing with a very sick dog right now - we spent 2 hours at the pet ER on Friday ($300!!!!!!!!), and it doesn't look good.  Poor Killian is 15 years old, having seizures and the meds they gave don't seem to be working.  They have an appt. with the reg vet on Wednesday; unfortunately, I think I know how it's going to play out.  Killian is Gary's first baby, he's had her since our next door neighbors, who abused her, got rid of her as a puppy.  Killian was a great comfort to Gary when he and the ex first split and she would take the kids - the house was SO quiet and it helped Gary to hear Killy's tags jingling.  As most of us do, Gary knows the right decision to make should it come down to that, but it sure doesn't make it any easier.  God knows I'd happily offer up my ex or some other individual in Killy's place.  Just think good thoughts please, for Killian and Gary.  Gary helped me through losing Molly, and Killian is just like another member of the family for whom we'll all grieve. 3.  That I didn't completely blow my good eating over the weekend - although I did have some salt 'n vinegar chips and two small brownies.  I also went to Trader Joe's and bought a bunch of new stuff (new to me) to try out.  LOVE THAT STORE!!! Hope everyone has a great day!! Tia

Today I am grateful: 1) Kids went back to school today, WOOT! 2) Today is my check up at the surgeons office and maybe they can tell my why I have gained six pounds and where in the hell is all this gas and bloating coming from. 3) I am so thankful for the people in my life.  I still can't believe I had major surgery last week!  Everyone has helped out so much.  I am thankful for good help and great friends. 4) Rain, we need it and today is a good day for it!

I'm guessing they'll tell you the gas and bloating and 6 pounds are all related.  Hey, at least you know it's not from making bad food choices or drinking alcohol!!!  I'm also guessing that as much as you love her, you were quite happy to see Miss G off to school today!!!  I'm with ya - sometimes, it's a blessing to say, "Gary, they're ready to come home!!!" We need rain?  Not according to the softball fields - or swamps, I should say!!

hey tia, i was wondering where you were!!! i am so sorry to hear about your brothers furry friend. I love my furbabies to bits. I wish i could take them with me everywhere lol. I will be hoping for the best for the doggy. sometimes it's best to let them go so they don't suffer anymore. killian is obviously a dog that had a wonderful life so think of all the joy he experienced!  as for me, what i am grateful for is: 1. that i still am losing weight. i thought i broke my surgery lately. i haven't lost anything in two weeks and i know why that is. very bad eating behaviors and no exercise. over the long weekend, i ate alot of stuff but yesterday pulled it together and only had protein and a couple bites of veggies. didn't even taste mom's pineapple upside down cake, which is awesome. so this morning, i have lost another 3.5 lbs! thank god i still have hope of losing this weight.  2. that my husband and i are working through some problems and it is looking hopeful. i love him so much and am really hoping to be able to have a life together. 3. that this week will be a short week. oh and my boss won't be here. can't stand him.  hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Hey Nic!!  Yeah, I've been around, but my puter at home went kablooey!!  It's going to the dr. tonight. Yeah, this is SO hard on my brother.  He SOBBED yesterday, it was awful.  He knows the right thing to do for Killian, but I honestly think he'd rather have KB's mother put down, as horrid as that sounds!!! I'm glad your tool's not broken - although it takes a great deal of abuse to actually make it stop.  It's kind of a mixed blessing for the first few months that you can eat junk and still lose - it makes it that much harder to develop good habits because you become complacent.  Hang in there - you can and will do this!!

I hope that you and hubby do work through your problems.  I know it's only been a year, but you've undergone some monumental changes in that time, on top of the first year usually being the hardest on a marriage.

Right there with ya on the boss sometimes.

Hugs,

Tia

I am so sorry to hear about your brother's sick baby, Tia. I'll think good thoughts for him.

I start my first 14 day liquid diet today BUT I know it's for the best and only the beginning so I'm going to try to make the best of it.

So....today

1. That I get another 3 days off work. The doctor has had me out for the past 2 weeks because of cellulitis in my leg. Though I am sick of daytime TV, I quite enjoy being a woman of leisure, so I wasn't TOO hurt when he told me to come back Friday and to stay home until then.

2. That I get to go to the dietician today for my pre-op required visit. I'm one step closer to getting date!

3. I got majorly lucky and got an appointment with the sleep specialist for June 3rd. Usually it takes weeks to get in.

Have a great Tuesday everyone and try to stay dry. The sky looks like it's about to open up, but at least we got to enjoy a beautiful weekend.

Hey Brandi - First of all, got your PM and will answer shortly.  Thanks for the good doggie thoughts, it's soooo hard. Here's hoping the next 14 days go quickly.  Keep in mind that no matter how unpleasant it seems, it's a means to an end.

Man, cellulitis is NASTY - my brother's got it in his legs and so does a friend of ours.  Nothing to fool around with, so I'm glad you're off.

Keep us posted on your visit today.  Good luck with the sleepless study!  It's painless, but it IS a pain.  Again, a means to an end.

Have a great day,

Tia

Tia, I am so sorry about Killian. I pray that God gives Gary all the strength he needs to get through this rough time. I am glad you had a wonderful weekend. Today I am thankful for: 1. My RNY!!!  I am so glad that I had this done for me! 2. The love of my husband and children. They keep me going when I feel I am about to lose it. 3. for my OH family. Even though I am moving to WV my heart and friends are in MD. Man I pray the gas prices go down so I can visit often!   lol Have a wondeful day everyone.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Thanks, Cira.  This just brings all my experiences with losing Molly back.  It's horrible. You forgot to mention that you are now HOMEOWNERS!!!  I'm SO glad everything played out okay! Thank God for email - even when you can't visit in person, you can visit the board daily.  Although you know I'll miss you terribly, I'm so excited about this new chapter in your life!!! Hugs, Tia
