3+ YEARS POST-OP & A HUGE NSV!!!

LOL!!! You crack me up, girl!!!  Don't worry, "I'm the safety girl!"  I do exactly everything you say, I ALWAYS let my brother and usually Heather M. know who I'm meeting, where, and what I'm wearing - you know, in the event my body washes ashore!!!  LOL!!!  Seriously, I'm well aware that there are some wackos out there, so I'm extra careful!!  But thank you for your positive reinforcements!!!

Craigslist - Yep, been there, done that, got the t-shirt.  I met a really nice guy, Brian.  We emailed back and forth for about a week, and were scheduled to see each other on a Saturday.  I emailed him to confirm Friday night, didn't get a response, which was odd, and awoke on Saturday to find an email waiting from him.

It basically said, "I have to be honest with you.  (NEVER A GOOD SIGN)  I'm not married, but I am involved with a married co-worker who doesn't want me to see anyone else.  I get daily threatening phone calls from her husband and pics the husband sends me of them having sex.  Unfortunately, as much as I like you, I can't date you, I can't cuddle, I can't snuggle, I can't kiss you.  All I can do is have sex with you and send you home.  Run (Forrest), run away quickly from me, as I am F***** up."

So I did.

Any other bright ideas??????  LOL!!!

LMAOOOOOO That is Craigslist for ya. Gotta love it! There are some super nice people on there and there are some SUPER FREAKS too. Gotta take the goood with the...naughty. LOL

Again, you know how I feel but just wanted to re-emphasize that when it's right, you'll know!  I never believed people when they said that until it actually happened to me.  Back in the day I would (and did) settle for anyone that paid me attention, no matter what he put me through.   After I finally found the courage to end it (after 11 years), I went through everything you are going through and just when I wasn't looking...boom, there he was! 

I'm VERY proud of you!  Take care of you!  And like I said, enjoy not having to worry about anyone but you for a while!  LOL!

Thank you, g/f!!!!  You're right, MOST of my life is spent taking care of others.  I'm trying to get better and be aware of my own needs at the same time.  It's a difficult balance.

I'm sure I probably sound desperate, but I'm just desperate for the RIGHT man, not just ANY man!!!

You don't sound desparate, you sound honest, period.  And you're right, most of us have dealt with some effed up s**t in the past, thinking it was true feelings, when actually it was feel good for the minute feelings and a whole lotta disappointment.  It takes a while to build your confidence and go out and find someone that will love you for you, and whom you will love for them, with no pretenses.

I moved to this area 10 years ago and I've found it very hard to find true friends, so I can't even imagine how much harder it is to find true friends to date.

What a healthy attitude to have.  It is good to know that you see your self worth.  AWESOME!!

I remember I had a date with a VERY professional man.  I was set up with him and spoke to him on the phone probably a dozen or so times and he came off as a really super guy.  Can you say just one date!!

He sat across from me, stared at my breasts and told me I had a nice set of.....teeth as he continued to stare below my chin.
