An update 7 days Post Op

Well I made my followup appointment for the 23rd and everything has been going well. Yesterday I began to take all my supplements and after the first Petite calcium pill it felt like it got stuck so after a little bit i took some more same deal severe pain in the middle of my back from that stuck feeling. So i dissed the rest of my pills and will be getting my liquid ones today hopefully. Last night I had a new experience which was I drank some water to fast not thinking and got the foamies for the first time they suck too. All in all I think this was worth it since I was such a pain in the a$$ to all my OH family through this and they still love me ( I Think ).  Anyway just an update. everybody have a nice day. Oh and I can now sleep on my side and sneeze without pain LOL.

I was so happy to return to sleeping on my side, and yes the foamies suck!! lol

Hey Dusty!  Glad you're getting better and discovering the things you can and cannot do with your band!  It's a great tool to have when you're losing weight and it's a reminder that you are now different!  Glad you're not in pain!

Glad to see you are up and about the OH site.  I am also glad to see you are progressing nicely.   That "stuck" feeling is something huh?  I am not sure I could even explain to someone other than a fellow Lap Bandster.  LOL    How are your wounds doing?  Mine seem to be healing well.  I am ready to progress to mushy food probably tomorrow.  with regards to your pills incident,, I guess I have been fortunate to this point cause I have not had that particular problem.  I purchased chewable adult vitamins at the vitamin shoppe but I still take a couple of other hard pills and thankfully without incident.  Hopefully you have the cure to that problem by purchasing liquids in place of the tablets.  What are you doing for protein supplement?  I purchased a big barrel of (unflavored) protein from the vitamin shoppe and have been adding it to my crystal light drinks.  I curious to what you are doing?  Well buddy, keep me posted and talk to you soon.

Of COURSE we still love you!!!  You haven't been any more of a pain than any of us when we were new post-ops!!!  It's all a learning process.  Sometimes a painful/unpleasant one, as you're discovering, but you'll get the hang of it.

Just be compliant with your doctor and nutritionist's orders and you'll do okay!!!

And FYI - that stuck feeling/foamies isn't reserved for just bandsters - RNY folks know the feeling of a "food induced heart attack" all too well!!!!

Yup we get the slimeys and I've had my fair share of food getting stuck!  Luckily I throw up stuck food like a champion!  LOL  Of course I haven't been stuck in a while

I am so glad that you are doing great! I am sorry you had the pill stuck. That feeling is horrible.  I am glad that you are going to do the liquids for a while.   Those foamies are just terrible I hate them. But the good things is that it will all get better soon. Right not you are so ealry out and still swollen. Remember to sip sip sip.  I have to remind Gino often to eat slowly and sip not gulp.
