INSURANCE

I STARTED MY PROCESS IN JULY, AND HAVE COMPLETED EVERYTHING.  NOW I AM JUST WAITING ON OFFICAL INSURANCE APPROVAL TO GET MY SURGERY DATE.  I HAVE MAMSI OPTIMUM CHOICE ( UNITED HEALTHCARE).  HOW LONG DOES IT USUALLY TAKE TO GET A RESPONSE?

Is MAMSI like MDIPA. That's what I have. I was told that they usually drag their feet in approving patients for surgery. The surgeons office told me that after 2 weeks, they would start calling them to get an answer. Monday will be 2 weeks that I have been waiting for approval.

I will definitely let you know when I get approved. I am so excited and looking forward to a life post-op! I had days in the past where I questioned whether this was right for me. And I had days where I was super nervous. But now, I just am eager to start my new life!!!

I GOT APPROVED!!!    I haden't heard anything after 2 weeks so I called the insurance company directly. They actually approved it in 2 days! But I guess there was a breakdown in communication. If you haven't heard anything after 14 days then I would suggest calling.
Anyway, my date is Feb 4th.
