forgot to mention like Ren said the single cheese packages or string cheese.  I have those with me at all times!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I'm not a gadget person, but I did use my blender.  I am with Aaron about the pill crusher and then I couldn't have lived without my S/F popsicles and S/F fudgesicles.  They were a staple.  Also, remember to take your pillow with you on the ride home from the hospital to press against your stomach for those car bumps.

I loved my heating pad the first several days home. My back was a wreck from the hospital bed and it also eased my gassy, achy tummy.

I love my off brand magic bullet thing (got at CVS)--hated the real magic bullet--mixed weird or something. Every morning is my chocolate shake with 1/4 banana and ice and the cup it is blended in becomes the cup you drink it in--less mess!

I got a little heatable gel pack (like the first aid kind) that I heat up to put my bowls or plates on to keep my food warm while I eat sslllllooooooooowwwly. It is so nice not to have to try to reheat 2oz every 10 minutes.

A kitchen timer. I was told to only eat 1 oz every 10 minutes and drink no more than 8 oz an hour for those first couple weeks. So I would set my timer for the amount of time I should eat and it helped me slow down. It really did help change my perception of how quickly I was eating. Then as soon as it rang, I'd reset it for 30 minutes more to tell me when I could drink again. My daughter joked that I sounded like a bomb because I was always ticking. Thankfully now just a couple weeks out they have eased the restriction about how slow to eat, but I still will use it to keep me honest about the 30 minutes of no drink.

Oh, they may offer you a binder in the hospital--take it if they do. It made a world of difference in how comfortable I was when I was up walking--awesome support. Not so comfortable to sit in, but it helped a ton with walking early out.

Hope this helps!

Denise
