THE FEED BAG
Good morning!!! What's everyone eating? I had decided that I would relax my routine a bit on the weekends, but I think I'm going to have to pick just ONE of the days - any more than that and I could be in trouble!!!! So....Saturday will be my IT day!!
Friday:
B - Greek yogurt w/strawberries
S - Cheese & crackers
L - Grilled chicken sandwich minus the bun
S - Protein bar
D - Italian chicken sausage caponata
All my fluids, all my vits!!
Next!!!
yesterday......
Pre-op this would have been at least a 10,000 calorie day.....thanks to my new tool, I successfully enjoyed eating out without sacrificing my health/well-being too much!!
B: Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt (pre op i probably would have had some greasy left overs from the night before)
Brunch (went to the Broadway Diner after the gym): 1 egg, 1 slice american cheese, 2 slices tomato, 2 slices bacon, 1 slice wheat toast w/ 1 tsp butter (pre op I would have had a huge bagel with cream cheese and lox, a side order of scrapple, and a side order of potatoes covered in ketchup)
Dinner: 11 steamed shrimp at Olde Philadelphia Inn with the family (pre op I would have had a crab pretzel, and order of redneck wings, a seafood club, and french fries)
Snack (Coldstone Creamery): kids cup of NSA sinless sweet cream ice cream with coconut, almonds, and pineapple mixed in (pre op I would have had something huge, chocolatey and sugary....it certainly wouldn't have had fruit in it)
Post Snack pizza run (the devil took hold of Jay!!): Jay got an order of Crazy Bread and a large pepperoni pizza.........I took 1 bite of crazy bread and 1 bite of pizza.......and then went and felt sorry for myself...hehe. (pre op I would have gotten my OWN order of crazy bread and eaten half the pizza)
In Jay's defense, he has lost over 30 pounds since my surgery.....we just live a healthier lifestyle now. Major kudos to him....he's wonderful, he motivates me every day to be a better person. Well......they just put a Little Caesar's in Dundalk and he was DYING for pizza. He hasn't made a late night pizza run since the end of October before my surgery. With my blessing he stopped and got himself a pizza and crazy bread and I was OK with it. Its taken me this long to be OK with having tempting food like that around me......I did tell him that it had to be out of the house by the time i get home from work today!
I sucked with my water....48ish oz. and got all of my meds/vits. I should have had a protein drink..it would have helped in the fluids/protein areas.
I am so FREAKIN proud of myself for not putting myself into a food coma =)
In total, I had 718 calories, 36 grams of fat, 52 carbs, 13g sugar, 58 g protein

If you are talking about Little Cesar's crazy bread - I feel for you - they have the best!
As far as pizza goes - I normally order the super supreme from Pizza Hut - hubby calls it the salad on bread with a cheese ring (stuffed crust)
Then what I do is eat all of the toppings and the cheese - and leave the bread behind.
When I'm done, I throw the bread outside to a few neighbors that I don't care for, and hope that they are awoken by the cawing of seagulls as they are feasting on their front door.......
No, just kidding, I chuck them away.

Yeah, it was sweet. The tomatoes are what did it.
Mmmm...love the olive tapenade too. Actually I pretty much love all of their tapenades. I've done something similar with the Mixed Grille Tapenade as I did with the Caponata, although I think I put chicken breast in that one.
When I bought the caponata, I also bought the Piccata simmering sauce. I pounded some chicken breast thin last night and stuck them in the crockpot overnight with the Piccata sauce, to which I added some olive oil and cooking wine. OMG...when I woke up this morning, the smells in the house were GLORIOUS! I can't wait to have some for dinner tonight!
