Just got a call from Dr. Singh's office. We are approved .

She actually got us scheduled for May 12th for Marty and the 19th for me. Oh my goodness Im so scared now. Is that normal to get scared like this? Ive been so excited and now the reality i****ting me. Not the band part (well a little) but mostly the surgery part. I mean I have to get surgery regardless because of this stupid hernia, but oh my heavens im nervous now.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!  Yes, being nervous is perfectly normal. I remember an attack of nerve**** me out of nowhere. After 5+ years of research and going through the approval process, I chastised myself for making such an "impulsive" decision. Fortunately, I posted a thread on this board and there were plenty of people who happily qued up and helped talk me off of the ledge.  Good luck to you and Marty. Peace and Blessings, -Antoinette

WOOHOO!  Congratulations on your approval and dates...and they are right around the corner.  Yes, it is normal to be scared, nervous, excited, etc.  You will go through all emotions between now and then, and especially when you are getting ready to be wheeled into the OR.  Just go with the flow and you'll be a loser along with the rest of us before you know it!

Thanks everyone. I knew you all would chime in with happy thoughts.

I think Im just nervous because its so soon. I honestly didn't expect it to happen this quick after the approval. Im also nervous about the amount of time being off of work because I don't get paid to be off, Im an independent contractor. Hopefully they will give me something to calm my nerves while im waiting to be wheeled in?

Congratulations, Mellie.  I was a bit nervous too, but it was the easiest surgery and recovery I've ever had, and I have had quite a few.  I work at a desk and only had to be off a week, but I was back to work part-time after 3 days.

Terri thanks, one of my biggest fears is how much money im going to lose next month due to not being able to work. I work from home typing so im hoping it will be very minimal.
