Would you call if you were me?

Ok so you guys kind of know whats been going on with me lately. Tuesday I was 2 weeks exactly post op. I really dont think I should be having any pain at this point but my side and right under my breasts are extremely tender, to the point I cant breathe in or cough. Sneezing is murder. If you palpate my side it hurts to be touched. I cant sleep at night because when I roll over I feel it tugging on every side. So should I call and go in and be seen today or do you think he will just blow me off? Basically I called him this weekend before I went to the ER and frankly I dont believe he remembered who I was and he sort of blew me off and said its just pain from surgery, dont worry about it. I just dont believe I should be in this kind of pain from the surgery and Marty certainly didnt have any. So im kind of thinking why bother driving all the way up there if he just says that.

Yes.  Call, have Marty call for you, show up at his office, go to the ER, call 911 - I don't care what you have to do to get someone to listen to you, just do it.

In my not-professional opinion, no, you SHOULDN'T be in this kind of pain.  Tired, lack of energy, yes, but not what you've been going through.

Please keep us posted!!  You have my number (or Marty does) - call me if you need anything.

Hugs,

Tia

I would call:  You should not be feeling pain like that:  I am rather surprised at his

reaction this weekend.  When are you supposed to see him for the postop visit?

Well see I saw him last Thursday 1 week post op and had NO abdominal pain whatsoever. On the way home my upper back started getting stiff and sore and i thought it was the drive but by evening it was really hurting. Thats when it all started. My upper back still hurts and is sore but now its in my side and abdomen more. Ive had 2 ct scans this weekend of my chest and they found nothing.

Look, Mellie, IMHO, at two weeks post-op, anything that keeps you in even sporadic pain, uncomfortable and unable to move ahead with your healing is cause for concern.

I'm sorry, I can't remember - do you still have your gallbladder?

In case I wasn't clear - CALL.

Yes I do, but the ER docs didnt think it was a problem this weekend when they scanned me twice. Im going to see him at 10:15 and im not letting him off easily. i have been miserable for over a week and have lost work that I really cant afford to lose.

But they scanned your chest, right?  They need to do a gb ultrasound to know for sure.  If I remember correctly from my gba days, it can also show up in bloodwork.

Crossing my fingers and offering you a gentle hug!

my GB ultrasounds looked normal.  the only thing that showed a bad GB was the HIDA scan and that's horrible.   my gb was sick but i had no stones.
