CareFirst BCBS and the Duodenal Switch

Hello Everyone,

My fiance and I are going to tie the knot soon. I have been researching WLS for over 6 years now and have decided that the DS is for me.

So, my questions is, has any had any experiences with CareFirst BCBS and the Duodenal Switch? I looked online under his plan and it clearly states that it coverss it. He works for a DC Metro County School system.

I did not have the DS, so I cannot answer that question.

I cannot think of anyone on this board with the DS so we might not be very helpful.

Have you posted your question on the DS board? They have a LOT of super helpful and nice people there.

Yes, I have posted on the DS site but they told me I should post here about the insurance since it is specific to Maryland I guess.

I'll see if I can find anyone who has had DS in Maryland.

The only Maryland DSers I can think of are JillyBean720 and HokieFan but they post on the DS board, not here. Don't know if they can be of any help?

Welcome to the Maryland board. I am hoping to have RNY in September so I'm not a big help.

I think you have gotten some good suggestions from the other wise women here. I would check the DS board and the Insurance board.
