Hey Nikki,

I just want to say you are in great hands with Dr. Singh. I absolutely adore him. I hope he's able to help you get where you want to be.

I am pretty sure they require the 6 month diet double check with your insurance also , My insurance customer service told me it was not required , when I spoke with the review nurse I was told it was required and I beleieve is a maryland mandate.

Topic: RE: Considering a Revision Consult....
He said if it's slipped we can work on revising.  We are still checking for anything else like hernia, ulcers from acid etc.  I go for my barium upper GI on Friday.  I don't know if the reflux is enough to revise (on the insurance end).  When he asked do i like the band and I said not really that is when he said well we'll just take the damn thing out.  So he would revise regardless.  And his recommendation is RNY - that is what he does most in his practice.  It's being able to approved for the revision.  He didn't want to say too much until he got all my previous records and my results from these tests.  Hopefully I will know more in about a week after my upper GI.

Since the band is unfilled, no more heartburn.  I am starving and can pretty much eat anything with NO restriction and obviously once again I am no longer full.  The past few days have not been easy at all!

so he does NOT want you to get rny? confused about your statement. so first you have to see if you have a slip and only if you have a slip they will take it out? or is the heart burn enough to remove it? how have you been since you posted this?

Topic: RE: protien shakes ????
I got some of the EAS rtd low carb shakes at Target and Walmart and I thought they weren't bad.  I've only had the chocolate and vanilla ones so far. Definitely drink cold, one got warm and bleh it was horrible lol. Now I'm pre-op and I was told to try them out before hand but then I was also told your taste buds change and you may not like them post-op.  So only time will tell I guess.

Congrats to you.  The wait is hard, I am approved and have my date 4/5 and I spend every single day counting down and non stop thinking about.  I wish the time would go faster.  However, I do realize it took me a long time to get this way thet least I can do is wait 3 weeks.

I know I waited over 3 weeks after my last nutritional visit before I got my date.  At the 3 week mark I called to find out what was going on (did I get approved /denied whatever) because I hadn't heard anything (and it was driving me crazy lol).  I had gotten approved but still had to wait almost another week to get my date.

Good luck!
