Thanks! It won't fail as long as you stay vigilent. I lapsed for a while due to a rough patch in my life, but things are much better now and it's time to get back to basics!

If you're willing to travel up to Hanover by the Arundel Mills Mall, Dr. Jonathan McCoy will fully cooperate with you at helping you with whatever you need. He wrote the absolute best letter of medical necessity I could have asked for and I had approval within hours of the insurance receiving it.
I know he accepts UHC insurance and is fully credentialed with them. If you need the number, let me know.
I have a coworker that lives in Lanham and sees Dr. McCoy as her PCP. She will not see anyone else. She, too, is pre-op and will be getting her RNY in approx. July.
Hope this helps!

Hmmm.... not very familiar with regular MDs in Lanham. I used to work over there so only have mental health recommendations. BUT if you didn't mind traveling, my PCP here in Germantown is Dr. Piyush Patel and he is AWESOME! Really open, supportive, good listener. By far, the best GP I've ever had - and I've felt your pain, had some real insulting GPs in the past. Very discouraging when your primary isn't supportive of your rights to manage your body. Sometimes it's lack of familiarity with WLS, sometimes they don't have empathy to obese patients, and sometimes they're just miserable people (try not to assume the latter).
When you get to the point of needing psychiatric evaluations, message me and I can give you a few people I'd recommend. Good luck!!
