Topic: Had surgery on 05/31/11...all is well!
I am one day out of surgery and I am surprisingly feeling okay. Dr. Singh and the Saint Agnes Hospital team are the best. I have had a very little bit of soreness in the abdomen area but I don't even need any pain meds. I have had no nausea and have been able to hold down water, soup, jello and I just started my meal replacement/protein shake today. I have very little gas pain also. I stayed in the hospital last night but I am home today. All is well. Now, if only I can find a comfortable position to rest in.
Topic: My New Motto
For the rest of this week, I have decided that my new motto is:
Sip, sip, sip, Walk, walk, walk and Nap, nap, nap.
Actually thinking about returning to work next Monday, even though I have that week off also.

Topic: Special Guest- St Agnes Support Group Monday June 6th.
On June 6th, 2011 we will have a very special guest at the support group. Dr. Ajay Kumar MD is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Kumar is very experienced in body reconstruction following weight loss surgery.
Our meeting will be held in the Alagia Auditorium from 6-7pm. Due to the nature of the discussion and possibly graphic photos, this meeting is not appropriate for children.
Dr. Kumar's address is 300 Frederick Avenue Ste 200, Catonsville MD 21228 and his phone number is 410-744-0900. He is in practice with Drs. Tom Grace and Kerry Owens MD.
Looking forward to seeing you Monday!
Topic: RE: Support groups
I've got a question. Can you show up to any support group or just the one for your doctor/hospital? My doc/hospital is far away but I would like to go to more support groups but don't want to travel so far. There is one closer to me but it's not for the hospital that I went to.

Hi Barb,
I am so glad that you are doing well. Wow you are doing really good to be able to walk all of Arundel Mills Mall.
Keep up the great work. Make sure to document your progress by taking monthly pictures of yourself, Also it is good to measure your body seeing those inches go is a life saver when you don't see the scale moving.
Keep me posted on how you are doing.
Take care,
Cira

Topic: RE: U of M bariatric
So I saw the urosurgeon and she said I never needed the surgery in the first place.
She feels it is something with my colon/large intestine and has referred me to Hopkins to see a GI motility specialist.
Trying to get ahold of them is nearly impossible though! I called and left messages for 5 days straight and no return call. I finally called the patient advocate and asked them to step in. So I FINALLY get a call back from the secretary who says she cannot make an appointment until they know what is wrong with me or until I have a diagnosis. WHAT???? Ummmm....that's why I'm calling because no one knows what the hell is wrong and want to see if this doctor can figure it out. I got so frustrated I finally told the woman that I am going to call the urosurgeon at University and have her contact the doctor directly and make arrangements for me to be seen. Which I did just that...now I'm waiting to hear from them again with hopefully a very soon appointment.
If this doesn't work...I will, once again, ask Noel for some help. At least I know I can count on her no matter what!!!
