Well I am home,  went in Wed morning for a RNY and ended up with a VGS due to adhesions from a previous accident.  All went well except I feel like I have been hit by a train   thrown from the tracks and then hit by a bus. Looking for room on the loser bench Thanks guys for your support

Glad you're home and kicking around. Must be kind of a weird feeling to get all spooled up for one surgery and come out from under the gas with another one. But I bet this one will work if you work it. At least you didn't wake up with a vasectomy.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

Hope your healing well.  There is a VGS Forum here at OH too.  They may be able to help with the more technical questions you may be facing.  Heal quickly and enjoy the ride.  Brian

Hi You will love the VSG. you don't have the dumping, you won't have to take vitamin's like you do with the RNY. I just can't say enough great things about the VSG. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email. Steve

AT least you'll get the weight issue under control. IMO the VSG is the safest of all the WLSs adn you'll be happy with your results. I get my VSG June 4th  Do head over the VSG forum and check out VSGFAQ.com, both great sources of info.

Do head over to the VSG forum but once you get sick of the fact that there is no useful info there, just a bunch of women wanting a bunch of other women to validate them and share their paranoia then come back this way where the guys will give it to you straight without all of the sugar coating

Not meaning to knock that forum too hard, I am just getting sick of it lately. I want to see us all do well but on that forum if have nothing useful to say but need a virtual hug you'll get 20 replies, if you want to spread paranoia and fear of things there is no reason to fear you'll get 20 replies, if you want to actually give someone useful information and facts the thread will go dead immediately.

It's a useful thread, but there is a severe lack of fact checking, even from folks there who are nurses and in the medical community. If you try to introduce facts that don't agree with their intution it will be ignored, after all what do the docs really know (other than how to perform our surgeries). I have to say I'm blown away by someone who will pay a doc 20k to re-configure their insides, then act like they don't know what they are talking about when it comes to the post op diet.

I feel a rant coming on, might have to start a new thread =)
