5 months out, some new pictures posted

Decided to update some pictures on my profile. Threw in some before pix, some where I was trying to track monthly changes (that stopped at 3 months out) and some of my latest ride up to Overlook pass  on the Sycamore Mountain bike trail in CA. Right now I am around 245lbs. I am down 113lbs since surgery on Dec 19 2007 and 145lbs down from my biggest of 390lbs.  It seems so long ago I went under the knife but it blows me away that it was just in December. Thanks for the support from everyone on this site and keep up the losing fellas!

You're doing great and should continue to do so for at least another 6 months.  Then things may slow down a little, but we generally see our greatest weight loss in the first 18 mos post-op.  So, enjoy your rides.  Remember to stretch before riding.

That is awesome Miko.  I feel like you and I are on a vision quest together.  I am at 247 from a high of 367.  I had surgery on 2/28/08 and it is ironic that you put into words exactly how I feel also.  I just can't believe that I am the same person who had surgery from a little over three months ago.  I am a totally different person physically and mentally.  Congrats on the weightloss my friend and keep it up.  That biking is awesome.  Great pictures. Seeing young guys like you get their life back makes me regret that I waited so damned long. You look like a To-Tal Ani-Mal on that bike, dude. Congratulations and keep up the good work.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

Thanks again for the positive words fellas. I know the weight loss will slow down but I am not worried about that. I take it one month at a time. I do work with a personal trainer right now 4 times a week that specializes with WLS patients. I hit the trail at least once a day when I'm not with the trainer. My plan is to get down to a goal weight of around 200lbs and then work on building muscle from there. Thanks for the stretching reminder not everyone always does it before physical activities.
