Hey guys,

My very first Half-Iron is behind me.
Finally got this bad boy finished...
Took me almost as long as the race on Sunday!

As usual, for those who are interested, I've posted the blow-by-blow on my online triathlon journal.

Congrats on the half iron. I was almost ready for my first sprint Tri in January when I fell from my bicycle and broke my left hip.  I'm slowly progressing, but recovery is taking SOOOO long.  I can do an indoor bike and some light swimming, but am no where near being able to run.  My bones are pretty well healed, but the muscles are taking a long time to rebuild.  I have to admit I'm a little jealous of you out there, but my doc says within a few months I should be alot better with gradually increasing my training. Take care!

A.J. Congrats on your 1st half-Iron man.    Great accomplishment!  I enjoyed reading your race report.

So when are you gonna attempt the full?   I'm volunteering at IMFL in November so I can sign up for the 2009 race.   As always I'm putting my name in the hat for Kona 2009 lottery but you know how that goes.

Thanks Chad!
Definitely goin' back to Eagleman next year

Kickin' some ass, yourself lately!
Don't burn yourself out, you crazy *******!

I've got a few Full Irons on my short list for next season.
Louisville, Florida, Wisconsin or Coeur d'Alene... And as always, the Kona Lottery
All depends upon which race I can get into!

And if I have to, I'll even brave the huge hills of the Adirondack mountains at Lake Placid! (Although, that's a last resort)

If it turns out to be IM Florida, we can tear that ***** up, side-by-side!

Good luck the rest of this season... looking forward to every report!
