Going nuclear
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
On April 15, I was on the gurney, IV's in, and ready for my surgery to begin when the surgeons said "WHOA! Not gonna do the surgery today - we need more heart tests first." I thought they were kidding me, but no, they were serious. Seems they did not have a test they required due to my previous heart attacks, pacemaker and stent. I was in shock and then pissed. Then I realized . . . they were looking out for MY interest, and I wouldn't want it any other way. They could have gone on with the surgery and if something went wrong, just blamed it on my past heart history. It cost them plenty to scrub my surgery after everything was ready - I was preped, the OR was ready, surgery team and nurses in place, cardio team there on standby. But, thank God my surgeons were looking out for me. They re-scheduled my surgery for April 28and I had to get the tests, get a letter from my Cardiologist, and then go through the pre-op liquid diet all over again. But in the end, it was worth it. My surgery went flawlessly and, so far, I haven't had any problems and am down a total of 97 pounds.
Michael, it may seem like the surgery is never gonna happen, but when it does, you want everything to be in your favor as much as possible.
Hang in there man!!
