OH.com for men? Ya, right!

Ok, sorry if I'm late to the party but the Paul thread (locked by the OH knuckleheads no less) is the final straw for me. The OH knuckleheads have continually relegated the locker room to porn-forum status and haven't done one thing to help improve our visability. Who ends up getting hurt? Why that be all the men who aren't aware of the locker room.   In my opinion, it's time for Moses (aka Dx) to lead us to a new promise land.  Boner

yep, hard to let go. like losing a friend in here but i gotta think a mass exodus is coming. turns out the school marms run this joint and we never actually had our dicks. i don't like being ball less. so in the next few days i'll try to get over to where dx told us to go and get signed up. too bad. i liked coming here but i think it was the last straw for me too. damn.

Oh, one more thing. i'm going to be leaving too. i just went over to Dx's site. cya over there. i think a mass exodus is a good thing. i'm talking myself into it now. so what do the rest of you guys think? time to go to a site where we keep our nuts?

i think i'll be like Dx and just shuffle back and forth until i can let go! later guys and hope to cya all over there because it's just a matter of time before we're all gone and they merge this forum with the pregnant women forum! no more revenue off my back either. i used to tell every single guy to come here. no more. they blew it. so lead away Dx.......carbonblob

Once the thread was locked, I did a PM to Jeremy.  He indicated that there are changes coming to Obesityhelp.com.  It seems that our visibility may be improved.  I'd be interested in other Men's WLS forums, but I really don't want to go from this open Men's forum to a different forum that isn't for men only whether it's open or closed.  We could all go over to Bigal2029's group but that doesn't seem to be happening.  I posted there yesterday and no one responded.  I've been with OH for 8 years as of this month and it has changed drastically over that time.  Then it had some adveritsements but was also supported by members' voluntary contributions.  There were far fewer forum.  There was a Q&A section, a library based on that section, and a general Forum.  Everyone on that forum stayed on message and talked about weight issues, dieting, exercises, and recipes.  Oh, yeah, I think there was a recipe board.  Things changed as OH grew in the number of members and the vast number of forums.  I wish the women in OH would leave this Men's Forum alone.  I don't mind them lurking.  I can imagine a lot of them want to read our Forum because we tend to stay more on point.  I respect women, but this is the place I come for support about WLS.  I had tried OA for years and the only time that worked for me was when I was in a Men's only group.  I can't explain it, but I do need male bonding in some aspects of my life.  Among them are body acceptance, mental health, and social ease.  I may not be saying this right, but I've said it before and I'll say it again:  I need a Men's support group for WLS.  Bob

it changed a ton just since i've been here almost three years this fall. yeah, every once in a while you have to deal with the women coming in here but they always seem to get it and leave. now when the men on their staff start acting like castrated men and more like women (and that's an insult to women) and start blocking threads after they had THEIR say then i'm gone. i can take it on the chin. this is a men's forum. so you give and you take. hell, i remember a lot of trash coming your way over the years and here we are, still friends supporting each other.

i guess the admins have no balls and can't take what they dish out. i have no stomach (just made a joke!) for that. surgery didn't shrivel my nuts. it's so important to me to see how the other guys respond to stuff because it helps me figure out where i stand too. i could have really found out what jeremy was made of if he took it on the chin and defended himself. hell, i might have even come away with a ton of respect for him. but no, he ran like a little ***** i take that back. i wouldn't say that if we were face to face so i'm not going to hide behind my puter board but i would not be friends with him, sorry. i've seen guys get hauled out in here and either leave or apologize. easy, two options. so when he didn't work it out and didn't let the rest of us respond, well, i'll say it again, hitler is working the boards. i learn from watching Dx as much as watching baja in action. i don't want to be spoon fed posts. least of all by a staff with no nuts and who deliberately push buttons......carbonblob

You said it, SJ......"I need a Men's support group for WLS" as well. I put a lot of effort into the "cause" but continue to get discouraged by the fact the OH Knuckleheads can't see the value in a men's only forum.  To think the OH Knuckheads wouldn't even consider putting up a sticky note saying "this is a WLS men's posting forum and we would appreciate it if women would respect our right to have a place we can call our own." What a frickin' slap in the face. Taco Boy ain't going to change anything cause he's afraid to upset his female bosses let alone TunaTown.   Just my thoughts.  Boner

I registered at the "other place," too, but as a codger-brain it's going to take me some time to figure out the threads work and stuff. But I'm not planning to abandon the Locker Room yet. Too many great guys here. Too bad though the way things seem to be going with goofy comments, ugliness, etc. I appreciate this forum still and hope it survives--and am also looking forward to getting involved in the new one. If I can figure it out!

I agree with Doug,

No need to leave. I don't really think we're increasing their revenue much, if at all by being here. It is a free space with a lot of great members. If we leave, we're likely to be scattered and stuck in with tuna issues. This is a one and only one of a kind board. I don't think we should mess around with that. There have been so many attempts in the past.

Just My Two,

Dave
