What are guys wearing post-surgery

Hello to all,  I am having the Roux-en-Y Gastric on 7.16.08. My wife, who has also had the surgery, said I should look into getting something to wear while I am in recovery that doesn't put pressure on my stomach. She suggested something along the lines of a house dress, or a moo-moo. I just thought I would see what other men are doing. Has anyone else experienced problems with their waist bands? Any suggestions would be great.. Thanks, Ryan

Thoongs can be binding. Seriously I wore pants and and my regular loose fitting shirts on the outside of pants and I was fine.

Loose fitting sweat pants will do you just fine!!! (Much...much better than a house dress or moo-moo)!!

I wore sweat pants and shorts made from sweat pant like material.  I do like the idea of a thong though, what a mental image!  Would make for interesting walks in the hall after surgery in the hospital, with the gown flapping open.

I liked anything with an elastic or draw string waist band and a loose fitting shirt.

Sweat pants w/drawstrings are a good idea.  But you'll be surprised at how loose your regular shirts and pants will get very soon (if they haven't already due to pre-op weight loss.)  I really didn't worry too much about this, and it never turned out to be too much of a problem.

during the hospital stay I wore a big ass robe.  When I got home I wore sweat pants

I had a gimp suit like the one from Pulp Fiction. Worked awesome. When that got dirty I wore my sister's prom dress.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Just wear something loose. The good thing about these surgeries is that for the most part, your body should be able to communicate with you just fine. If it hurts, don't do it.

Oh, one more thing that might be handy... On my discharge day my wife came and picked me up in my car. It's a Mazdaspeed 3. It's a sports car so the ride is pretty rough and it corners, brakes and accelerates quite well. Couple that with her unfamiliarity with the car, beat up pavement and a touchy clutch and my ride home was a gut-shaking ride. If you have a 70's Lincoln or Caddilac I'd recommend that.

Listen to the man!  I can still remember every bump and crack on the way home from the hospital to my house.  Those stitched-up incisions are super-sensitive!

I wore a pair of jersey knit work out shorts with a drawstring waist and a sleeveless T-shirt.  And no drawers.
