XPOST: Getting my hip replaced July 29 AM

I'll be off-line for the next few days to get a new right hip.  Surgery is @ 7:30 Tuesday morning at Boston's Beth Israel Deaconess.  I'm probably more anxious about this than I was for my RNY; unfortunately, there's no "Hip Replacement for Dummies" similar to "WLS for Dummies".  Still, if they can perform this routinely on thousands of 80+ year olds, I really shouldn't have a problem.  Then comes 6 weeks of convalescence; urgh.

See you all when I get home!

My ex had hers done when she was 47. Some kind of hereditary thing. She was fine. Wishing you all the best.

They had her up like in one day walking. It was titanium. Has a 15 year guarantee. One owner low miles only used by a lil ol lady to hobble off to church. Maybe you can get a used one like she did.

She had a HMO.

HAHAHHAHHAH

Good luck

Good Luck Steve. And if you get Jenny for PT tell her I said 'Hi'. Warning she may be small but she has hands that are made out of iron. But she is helpful and nice.

Hope all goes smoothly.

Best of luck with your surgery, Steve. Sorry to use another cycling story  but a year after having his hip replaced, former Tour de France winner Floyd Landis broke the Leadville 100 mountain bike race course record. My daughter and I were at the race last August which is here in Leadville Colorado. Floyd was amazing and looked fit as a fiddle.

Another miracle of medical technology. My thoughts and prayers are with you, foobear.
