A family friend from my hometown Clarinda Iowa, Carl, is scheduled to have WLS tomorrow morning. Carl has been lurking in the locker room and has set up a OH user ID "Pork Chop Boy."

Godspeed, Pork Chop.....there's a spot being warmed up here on the locker room bench for you.

Pork Chop Boy,
Best wishes for a successful and easy surgery.
August 14 you will now consider what I call
"your re-birthday".

Pork Chop, Pork Chop,

Greasy, Greasy,

You'll kick this surgery's ass,

Easy, Easy.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

Thanks to all for the well wishes, but mostly to friends Boner and Big Boner who have been great supporters and trail blazers for my journey.  The surgery went great and I'm home two days now and settling in on the new diet and supplements.  NO BIG DEAL  I feel great and have my first followup in two days.  Already down 25 pounds from high and 10 since surgery.  Hope be of help to someone in my shoes soon.  Carl

Hey, hey PorkChop!

Congratulations on your successful WLS.....now it's all up to you to take advantage of your gift! I have the utmost confidence that you will, so enjoy the ride. Set some fitness goals and track what you're eating on a daily basis to ensure you're getting in enough "good food." Not so important now since you're on a liquid diet but once you start eating "normally", it really helps.

I used Fitday.com to track what I ate on a daily basis. It's free and it helped me stay "aware and accountable" for my eating. Probably more important though is by using Fitday, I became much more knowledgeable about nutrition, and which foods are healthy and which ones aren't.

Knowledge is power, my friend.
