Had something simular happen.

Wal-Mart, looking for some clothes for my job hunt.

Found stuff that I figured would fit.

Jeans / slacks ended up being a little too big.

However, the jeans, being a $10 PAIR .. (Not even the extra two bucks for extended size.)

Yeehaw!

Stats so far:  10XL to a L (XL I still wear because it's just a bit baggy for daily wear, but L for workouts to hold everything in place)

Waist:  88"+ , 41" now.

Yee Freakin' Haw.

The fat boy stores were indeed "overpriced, and underserviced." My wife and I got to the point that we dreaded going into them since we'd usually walk out feeling humiliated as we toted out more plaid shirts and pleated pants, always a size larger than before.

Well said, Sheriff!

Amen, amen.  I still get 5 or 6 Big and Tall catalogues in the mail every month.  Now, they go right into the recycling pile without being opened.  At least Wally Mart has made it possible to afford new clothes during the transition time of size changes.  Shopping at Casual Male requires a second mortgage.

Man I would spend my paycheck at Fat and Tall. 60 bucks for a pair jeans. Now I can get a pair of jeans at Costco for 12 bucks

I'll still have to hit the big and tall for shirts and jackets cause even though I'm only 6'2", I'm real long bodied and short legged for my size. So the shirt tails on regular sized shirts won't stay tucked in and the jackets ride up to high on the waist. And that's OK cause we have a pretty good mom and pop owned  big and tall man's shop in Odessa and I've gotten to be pretty good friends with the family that runs it. But I hear what you're saying. No more Casual Male trips for me. And it will be nice to buy pants at regular stores when I start needing them. Right now I'm in my early 90's **** (42's) and will be down in to my late 80's **** (40's) before long. But when I get to where I need the 38's and 36's (goal) I'll have to go get some. I gave all my 38's to a friend back in '94 cause I'd given up on ever getting back in to them again.

It's funny you mentioned Casual Male.  I just got one of their catalogs in the mail today, and I realized for the first time that there was nothing they had there which would fit me anymore!  What a great feeling!

I gotta tell you, I won't miss them.  I know why they have to charge extra $$$ for XXL stuff, but that doesn't mean that I ever enjoyed shelling it out!
