Howdy Everyone,

I am now 2 months post op and down right about 90 lbs.  I have my 3 month post op on 9/19/08 and i want to lose that extra 10lbs so i can hit that 100 mark..

What you think folks will this happen?  I started training with a personal trainer this morning, and will be doing it 2 times a week . Then spend another 60 min walking or doing step class.

Am i pushing my self to much ?  I  know i am happy with what i have lost but I am afraid that i will be sad if i dont hit the next mile stone when i see the Dr.?

Scott

Ditto what Bob said.  Remember that when you weight train, you may not see the numbers on the scale drop as fast as before because you will add lean muscle.   You'll see inches lost though.  I'd recommend light weight - high reps with only 1 minute rest between sets until you get down to your desired weight.  And craploads of cardio.
Just my $.02  Good luck to ya!!

Hey Scott,

Your progress is awesome man, great job.  I am coming up on 9 months out and just hit the 105 lb mark.

Here's one thing to remember though.  Eventually you WILL hit a plateau and it WILL take time to break through it.  But your training and continual work will be the key to busting through it.  Remember this, and don't be too upset when you get stuck.  The good thing about plateaus is that once you bust through, it's usually 5 pounds or so less than what you were stuck on.

You are on the right track and keep up the good work.

Remember this is a journey and not a race.

As other people have said

Muscle weighs more than fat.
You may lose inches more than pounds as you firm up.

Don't get disgusted if it doesn't happen

Snickle, Snickle, Snickle . . . there you go again.  Muscle does NOT weigh more than fat. 5 lbs. is 5 lbs, - whether it  is fat, muscle, stel, iron or whatever.  Muscle is more dense and more compact than fat.  A pound of muscle is roughly 1/2 the size of a pound of fat, but they still each weigh 1 pound.
