Walk, Run, Ride, or Crawl!!!
OK Guy's I'd like to challenge each and everyone to journal your distance.
This is not a competition against each other, but a internal challenge. No matter what end of the exercise scale you find yourself.
As the season begins to change (some parts of the country sooner then others) and the Holidays are fast approaching lets motivate each other with our exercise.
We will still post IDGOMB for day to day efforts but a couple times a month will encourage you to post your month long statistics.
The first week of October will ask for your September effort. Good Luck and I hope you all participate!

It's cool to see many of newbie walkers migrate to more strenuous activities whether it be running, biking, triathalons, weight lifting or hiking. The exercise forum here on OH is full of men and women who have made this migration. Don't see any over there who have regained weight post-WLS. Great testament to the power of exercise quite frankly.

Consider this challenge as the "on ramp" for long term weight maintenance cause when the appetite returns, we need to have a way to burn off the excess calories.
My goal for Sept. is 500 miles cycling and 20 miles walking. Got a good start with 157 miles month to date.
Thanks

Cool challenge Bobby boy!! Great way to try to motivate and keep each other accountable for exercising. I'm game!! I'll use my mileage on the treadmill and what little bike riding I can get in.
Too dang bad I can't count the miles put in while on the saddle of my Venture motorcycle - heck, I can't even count twisting the throttle as wrist exercise cause I use the cruise control!
BwaHahahahaha!!!!
Bob I don't think you fully understand what a inspiration you are. With your limited capabilities your effort is awesome!
In just the last couple of months I've seen a new dedication to your health. The effort to get your Bike and modified to your needs was a challenge enough, but you kept pursuing it.
You never know how many WLS brothers you touch that probably thought I can do it, until they see your effort!
Darn Good Job Bob!

I figured out a way to modify a seat to suit my needs (due to severe lymphedema on my right leg I have difficulty straddling most bikes). Along with the cost of having my seat stem cut and ordering high rise handlebars (which come standard on the Super Large Trike) my total out of pocket costs were about $425. That's really hard to match. I do highly recommend the various Trikes for anyone with knee, back, or hip problems. Even though you may be able to ride the Low Rider, I'd suggest staying away from it. It's just too close to the ground to be comfortable for most of us. Bob
