I'm home
Well, I'm here. Surgery went well. Got home Thursday evening after spending an extra day in OKC with family, but just haven't really felt like sitting at the computer till now. I am having a time getting used to this. First night I had a SF popsicle and not thinking, ate it like I would have before surgery. Gez, about 15 minutes later I started getting this OMG full feeling, like I had eaten 3 buffet meals. My wife said I turned white as a sheet and I wanted to throw up so bad. Heaved a couple of times, but never did. Last night I had some chicken broth, and drank it too fast, and felt uncomfortably full. Also having trouble getting in all my water/liquids. I constantly have this bloated or, I guess, full feeling (best I can describe it). Is that normal? Sometimes I don't know if I am feeling full or bloated, or in pain. Even my sides hurt some. OTHER than that, it is going good. I am walking. The hospital and staff was the best. Glad to be back here and at least feeling good enough to post and get caught up. Thanks to all of you. Michael

Michael that uncomfortable feeling of bloat is probably the anesthesia gas still in your body it will be there for up to a week each day getting less uncomfortable. It will move around a lot of times in the shoulders, the more you walk the more you get it out. Remember your liquid protein counts as both protein & liquid so sip, sip, sip try and make each sip worth it not just clear water. Don't worry no it won't be like that forever. Good Luck. Michael,
This sounds pretty normal to me. Think of it this way: Every time you eat or drink too fast your bod will "teach you" not to! Eventually, eating slowly will be second nature. Sip water when you can. You won't get all of it in right away but your pouch will lose some of its post-op puffiness and your capacity will increase. As to bloat, you were pumped full of saline so that's par for the course, too.
You'll feel better and better.
Glad you're home.
