I need to lose close to 200lbs so I can work again. My diabetes is out of control no matter what I do I can't lose weight or get my sugar down. I have to use a power wheelchair to get around and I am sick of living like this, cause I know I won't live long if I continue this way
Welcome O/R, This is a great place to get support and info. The more info you gather the better decisions you can make. I'll tell you in my case I was insulin dependent, high blood pressure, sleep apnia (slept with a cpap, legs swollen, kidney disease, liver disease, 268 lbs.. Had rny April 1st 08' sugar every morning now 88-100, I take no med's of any kind all my blood work is normal, I'm 158 lbs I'm able to exercise each day and I'm 51. So there is hope! Good Luck. I so relate Rebel. My diabetes was also out of control, high blood pressure, swollen legs, sleep with a c-pap. I couldn't walk across my bedroom without getting out of breath. My legs would give out on me often and I would fall. Getting dressed to go somewhere was a MAJOR effort. I was so sick of being that way. I attended my first seminar in April, and had my gastric bypass last Monday. It went great and I am so happy now. I already feel better, as I had to lose 42 lbs. prior to surgery. My blood sugars are normal, after taking insulin for years, I have already gone from 3 strong blood pressure meds to one small one. It's a life saver. Good luck on your journey. Finding this forum is your first positive step. Here you will find support, info, or an ass-kickin if you need it. Come in regularly and ask any question.
