PISSED OFF!!!!!!!!!!! is a great place to start. That emotion more then anything else has kept me moving forward. Seams you have taken some important steps toward improving the quality of your life. It seams to me that living day to day in that wheelchair might be one of the reasons your blood sugar might be so out of control. Have you asked the doctor about aquatic physical therapy?? I have seen people in your situation really do well working with a therapist one or two days per week in a pool..

I have been thinking about it,but it's hard to take advice from a Dr. who almost as big as I am

The doctor may not practice what he preaches. But, he can help. If you dont trust his advice then you need to start shopping for a new Doctor. Sometimes it is the Doctor that makes the difference.
Start looking around for one. But, I would still ask abou****er theropy.... I have seen it make a difference in people such as yourself.

Howdy, and welcome to the MF  (Boneman, will you swear him in with the MF Oath of Allegiance, please?    )

May I suggest you check out the DS form of WLS if you haven't yet, given you have so much to lose and bad diabetes (as I did before my surgery)?  ..  It has a 98% permanent resolution rate with Type II, usually within two weeks of surgery ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

You will like the great guys here.  Keep posting and staying in touch.  Don't worry about the wait, if there is one.  It'll give you the time to adjust and learn about your new life.  That is a large part of your future success.

Lots of old codgers, including me and my older brother, have had WLS. New lease on life, Rebel. Best of luck in your decision.
