The doctor may not practice what he preaches. But, he can help. If you dont trust his advice then you need to start shopping for a new Doctor. Sometimes it is the Doctor that makes the difference.
Start looking around for one. But, I would still ask abou****er theropy.... I have seen it make a difference in people such as yourself.

May I suggest you check out the DS form of WLS if you haven't yet, given you have so much to lose and bad diabetes (as I did before my surgery)? .. It has a 98% permanent resolution rate with Type II, usually within two weeks of surgery ..

and hang on for the ride of your life. I am also 47, WAS on insulin and am still using my cpap. I had made up my mind I was'nt going to be 50 and fat and here I am 6 monthslater and 126 pounds lighter. My best advice to you is to read everything you can on here and hang out with us here. These guys here, were and are my greatest source of support and information. Best of luck to you.
