On the road again!
Great news Dale. I remember pre op you had problems just walking a short distance...now look at you!! Just wondering how you will handle the exercise routine and eating on the road (truck stop food). Plan ahead for these. I remember there was one guy on the Men's Forum here who is a long distance trucker. He carried his bicycle in his sleeper area. Would ride it on breaks. Will it be hard ballancing the need to rest and the exercise needs? Again plan ahead on the food needs. Well...enough preaching...enjoy the ride!!
THanks, yep.. quite a diff from not being able to walk half a block. I'm definately planning to take my own food with me.. lots of lean meats, drinks, etc... gotta keep them proper snacks handy.. can't be stopping every 2-3 hrs on the road.. LOL.
I"m planning to route my layovers near parks and stuff, several guys I know do that so they can get exercise... ya just don't wanna walk around truck stop parking lots.. .the smell will kill ya in the summer (drivers will get that.. LOL).

By the way, I was in Ohio last week. I moved here from Lima about 30 years ago. Went back to see someold friends and family I hadn't seen in about 10 years. Had a great time. Even got to go to a Buckeye game on Saturday. Lot's of fun. Happy travels to ya.

Sorry to chime on so late. Just catching up. Congratulations. I know this is what you were aiming for. It's amazing what you have accomplished.
Definitely take a cooler for the long haul. Also protein drinks meat sticks and cheese sticks and things like that will help.
Definitely keep checking in and letting us know. You can be a help to others in your situation. I have another person who is an instructor for OTR. She has to take students with her so it is fun for her and eating issues also.
Avoid the 7-11 if you can
