Surgiversary

Well 9 years ago this morning I went under the knie with what was the beginning og the longest and best journey I have ever made.  I was way over 500 lbs. I was already in the hospital because of back issues. I was wearing size 74 waist pants. I could barely walk. In fact, when ER came to get me, they had to use gaffers to help me walk. I had to lay in the back of the ambulance because the gurney wouldn't hold me. I was miserable. Dr Moreira wasn't sure he was going to do the surgery because of my back.  But he did

So after 9 years call em to additional surgeries, a gallbladder removal, vitamin and protein deficiency. I'm condensing. I had to learn to walk ater the deficiency. I was numb from the chest down and couldn't walk without a walker for the longest time.WHat have I learned

Well the surgery is not a miracle worker, it is a tool. You must work a program of vitamins and exercise and protein

I have to suppplement. I can't get it from food.

Your nerves stick out long before your ribs do.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Noobs have the same questions, the same fears and the same issues. It can be frustrating.

You MUST pay it forward. It is imperative. Everyone wants and needs support both women and men.  Even if you don't have the knowledge, you can still be supportive.

The Men's forum is the best.

In spite of all the problems and issues I have had, I have met and made some wonderul online friendships from the various groups I belong to.

I truly feel like I am one of the luckiest people around. The surgeries may not have been perfect but the result is great.

Good Luck to all of you in your journey.

Here's to another 9 years

Way to go Snik. You impress much much by how you keep moving and working forward.

Anyone want to elaborate on the nerves sticking out before the ribs?
