If you just had surgery, it's no surprise that you might feel like you have no energy.  That's completely normal.

Yes, it's a phase; everyone is different, but it can take a month or six weeks to feel like the surgery is behind you.  Good luck!

 Hey Foobear...

You wouldn't happen to know much about Microbiology would you? In particular microbial metabolism. Things like the Kreb cycle and all that. I need some help if you wouldn't mind chatting with me (that is if you know about that stuff).

Thanks!

Well, my last biochem and microbiology classes were in 1986!  I don't think I've forgotten everything--yet!  I'd be glad to try to help.

Hello Mark,
You just went through MAJOR surgery and it will take some time to recover.  Let your body take the time to do so.  You might as well enjoy the rest time, read a book or two, watch some movies, catch up on your sleep.
Also, keep moving as much as you can, but don't beat yourself up because you get tired so quickly.  You will recover!
Keep drinking all of the water that you can.
Welcome to the "Losers Cub".
We're here for you.

Like everyone else here said, you're still freshly off the operating table so I would expect to be weak for a while. As an aside, I still feel weak at times being almost 7 months out. I do workout a lot so I'm guessing it's the deficit of calories and the intense workout that is causing it. My B-vit levels are good so it's not that. I get plenty of protein and I'm eating a fair amount of complex carbs.

I have learned to live with the feeling, figuring when I begin to plateau it will work itself out. The doctor/CNP's say everything is normal so I should be okay. Oh well...

Good luck to you in your recovery!

What steve and the other guys said.  Will take a few weeks to get back up to par, but it will come. Just make sure to get in the fluids and vitamins, and continue to walk, walk, walk!
