Its ON boys

Hey their guys . I leave tonight for the GREAT RED WOOD FOREST of northern Ca . I'm going to be spending some time with fam , but best of all i'm going mountain biking in the old growth RED WOODS. I cant wait !!!! Seven days of hiking , biking and fun . And I get to see my fam too . Wish me luck so I dont leave a DNA sample in the dirt !! LOL

Sweet! Where are you going? Humbolt area? Mendocino? I love that whole area. My inlaws live only abou 40 minutes from Ft. Bragg so we're over that way all the time. Enjoy it! Kayaking on the Russian River by Mendocino is a BLAST if you get the time

Hey Jake . I ment to give you a PM and tell you were I'm going , but I ran out of time last night . I'm going to be staying in Eureka . I'm leaving tonight , hope to be on the road by about 10:00 PM and drive all night . First stop is Marysville / Yuba City and we will stay there for a couple of days . I am also going to be running by a little place on the coast called Shelter Cove . The wife and I hope to buy a lot and retire there .( some day )
I have not been there yet so this is also a recon mission for me as well. My wife has been there and has been talking to a realtor there . Now its all up to me.
 I am taking a friend with me and he has never been to Ca . H ewas born and raised right here in Utah. What a first trip aaaa . He is a reall outdoors nut so I'm pretty sure He's going to just love those big trees : what do you think ? I have done a lot of scuba diving all up and the north coast from Gualala , Anchor bay ,Jenner,Elk,Point Arena,Casper and Fort Bragg. I have Fam all up and down northern Ca. even some in your neck of the woods .

Wow, shelter cove is so wonderful! We went there a few summers ago, just the wife and me.

If you end up over-nighting in / or near Ft. Bragg, we've recently really enjoyed The Glass Beach Inn. It's right down from the Skunk Train. They have an attic room there with two queen beds, and a deck for like $100 / night or something rediculously cheap. Comes with breakfast and a snack. The couple that own it is super nice. We've been twice now. Tell them we sent you. If they forget, tell them it was the couple who's daughter broke the lamps....sheesh.

I wish you the VERY BEST time! Don't forget that Yuba City is the Sikh capital of the world! More than in N. India. That means...get your Indian food while you're there, if you like it. We do!

I was also thinking, In Mendocino and Ft. Bragg there are Harvest Markets. They have a really great deli. I always get my lunches there (deli meats, cheeses, olives, pickles, etc.) Very bari-friendly.

I could go on and on. I'll just live vicariously through you for the next few days, since my Mt. Lassen hike is getting rained out.

Mt Lassen hike rained out ?? It is my understanding that the storms are moving east and the forcast is for sunny sky's . But Lassen may be a different story / ( BUMMER DUDE )
I grew up in Yuba city / Marysville so I know all about the Sikh and the Hindou( SP ? ) and NO I don't really care for India food. I grew up with that smell and it still has not left my nose yet . LOL 

However I can do the deli meat's and I love all kinds of cheese's .
I am hoping while in Eureka to get some freash sea food though .
