2 years out today...

Yeh guys...the big 2 years today.  Some big things have happened over the last year.  The biggest thing is I got bigger.  After hitting my goal of 190 (with a lowest of 187), I proceeded to gain 25 pounds back over those 2 years.  With the use of Pepsi (my old friend...or should I say nemrsis), fried foods, processed carbs, etc. I got up to 215.  July 25, 2008 I had my second heart attack (the first one was 9 years ago).  I had to have a stent put in.  It really woke me up concerning my life here on earth (I still need to make my teenage daugther's roll their eyes at me...with how "out of it" I am).
I have worked my weight down to 195-196 over the last 2 months or so.  It has been a battle but I am doing alot better.  I still enjoy the Men's Forum, California Forum, and will look at the Main Forum sometimes.  I do enjoy Quix too...don't get be started.  Hearing questions like "I can't get in all my water or protein" from newbes can get boring after awhile...But we are here for support and try and give back (not just receive).  I have taken up bike riding more.  Enjoy it alot.  Sometimes I feel like a 10-12 year old kid on it.  When I want to stay just around the neighborhood I will ride the bike like a kid forced to stay "in the neighborhood" by his mom or dad.  I'll ride on the sidewalks, in and around cars, try some trick riding (to impress the girls...like riding with no hands!!).  Life is pretty good.  I am blessed by God.  Later, Brian

Sounds like you took some happy pills! That's fantastic, though. We're all proud of you and glad that you aren't letting that damn heart keep you down!

Congratulations. You have done awesome.  You are right although the questions can be repetitive, I would not say boring, it is important to keep paying it forward.

Although from some of the posts on the MB these days you gotta wonder why people bother having surgery.

Our guys here are a lot smarter though

Posts like yours remind all of us that this is a lifelong struggle.  It isn't over when you get to goal, and it isn't over when you've lost your way and gain too much weight.  We get a kick in the rear and chose to live a little longer.  Glad you got back up on the horse er bike.

nice to hear your story over the past two years.  I realize as a newby that this is no easy road and I appreciate you hanging around for us too.  BTW, any ideas for helping me get all my water in?  Just kidding.

Congrats on your 2 year mark, Brian. You've had an interesting "ride" to say the least but have been able to remain positive through all the challenges. Tack on the ability and determination to take off the 25 pounds and I would have to say.......you are one incredible guy.

Great job and here's hoping your WLs journey continues with even greater successes.

Congrats Brian.  When you lie down on the cold table and they go through your crotch, up into your heart, and work on the ol' ticker, it definitely gives you a different perspective of what is important.  I know because I had a stent and pacemaker put in back in 2002 & 2003.

Sounds like you know what contributed to the regain - the sodas and fried foods.  Glad you got a handle on it and got the weight back off.  Take care of yourself and ride the h*ll out of that bike - great exercise and good for the ticker!

Brian, CONGRATULATIONS on your 2 year anniversary.
I'm 6 months post op. Any words of wisdom for my next 6 months and beyond?
