Any Motorheads here?
Hi Guys,
I went to this car show on Sun (LISRA) Long Island Street Rod Association. Wow what a car show, several hundred cars form complete restores to complete customs. I love looking at such beautiful cars but this show served another purpose. It got me off my ass and before I knew it I had walked around for 2 1/2 hours looking at the cars (there were no seats there). So I got some work out without relizing it! Here is only a sample of some of the cars.

I love going to car shows . When I was a much yunger man I use to work at the Harrais car show in Sparks Nv. Three giant ware houses full of all types of cars .My job was to wipe them down with a baby diaper every day . We would start at the front and work our way back .By the time we made it to the back ware house it was time to start all over again.
Bill Harrai was one hell of a collector .
When he died his wife sold off alot of the collection that he had spent a life time building; I guess when your dead you don't need cars now do ya.
Good health and best wishes

I'm a pretty big motorhead. I build my first engine with my father when I was 17. We had a 77 mustang II and dropped a 1971 302 with small chamber heads and .030 over pistons as well as a edelbrock cam and intake with a carter afb 625 cfm carb... wasn't really high end power, but had a TON of torque!
Lost that after about 6 tickets
I'm driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Comp G now and once I get my surgery paid off, I am going to put a cat-back exhaust, cold air intake, a smaller supercharger pulley, and possibly some nitrous on it.
My all time "classic" car would have to be the 1971 Plymouth Barracuda 426 hemi with the black shaker hood (any color!) Second favorite would be a '71 Buick GS Stage 1 with the 455 big block!

Here in Dallas we have a big annual show in one of the parks here each April .. It used to be called "All British Car Day", sincei it mostly featured Jags, Bentleys, MGBs, Triumphs, Rolls, Aston Martins, Cooper Minis, Lotuses (Loti?), etc. etc. It is sponsored by a co. here that rebulds old classic Brit cars, including the Sunbeam Alpine, IIRC .. The last couple of years they changed the name of the show to "All Britsh & European Car Day" or some such, b/c so many "other" cars were also being shown in it and entered in the trophy competitions ..
Being Jag-obsessed and a "Jag-Lover" (I currently own three) I almost never miss it .. (hey, I find they're less maintenance than the ladies
) .. I used to be a member of both local Jag clubs and their members usually set up their own respective tents at the show and kinda have a friendly (mostly) competition thing going there between them ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
Dave,
I'm still here. I couldn't log on for the last 2 days, they told me I terminated my account. Well I don't know who did but I certainly didn't. They finally reactivated my account tonight.
I guess I'll never know what happened. My guess might be my soon to be ex wife. I'm moving out of the house Sunday the 19th. Maybe she thought this wou;d be one way to aggrevate me before I leave?????

Dan,
Glad you're back anyway. I think we have a hacker or two here. There certainly are enough people to get err... a variety and social networking sites are pretty easy to hack. Hackers are lacking a life.
Hope you're happy with the separation. The silence alone can be a relief. I'm on my third marriage and each time it improved. There is hope. Have I ever recommended Japan?
Best Wishes,
Dave
