Some new holes in my belt!

Happy to tell everyone I just had to punch a couple of new holes in my belt. I have had a few instances of my pants dropping as I walked. Great feeling. I am 70 lighter than I was 2 weeks prior to my surgery.

On a different note... I am still having problems with general fatigue and dizziness. I have no ambition to exercise and just want to sleep. I am 3 weeks out of surgery.  I am unable to work a full day due to the fatigue. I have seen my surgeon several times because I started fainting. All of my lab work looked great. I am not diabetic nor do I have any blood pressure problems. My doctor told me I was not eating enough. I am trying to eat but I truely have no concept of what being full is. I fear eating too much and stretching out my pouch.

I am eating 3 meals consisting of about 4 oz. of food and 3 protein drinks. Is this normal to feel this way?

Try a couple more meals (only the good approved stuff).  I was the same way.  Tried to grab for the energy and it just was not there.  After a few days or weeks it should return, mine did.  But for an american male (get'er done) it can be hard.  Hang in there and the energy level should go way way up in a few days.  Brian

2 wks prior and 3 wks post makes 5 wks total. 70 lbs in 5 wks means losing 2 lbs per day. Which translates to a deficit of 7000 calories per day. Which is pretty phenomenal. You ought to be week. Sounds to me like you're eating about as much as I was at that same time, but I'd echo what Brian says, and encourage you to try to get a few more meals or at least snacks in.

On a similar note: I had a steady run of pants from 56 down to 40 and so I haven't had to buy any new pants yet. But for some reason, I didn't have any belts between 56 and 40. So I just kept poking new holes in the 56 until I got down to where I could wear the 40 belts. I still wear that 56 for outdoor work and it goes around me almost half again. Feels pretty cool.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

Congrats on the weight loss and smaller belt size!

Make sure you are getting in enough protein and fluids.  It took me about 8 weeks to get back to feeling completely up to par.  Even now, if I don't get enough protein or fluids, I get weak feeling.

What the other guys said regarding the energy level, Clapton. Stick with the program. You did right checking it out with your doc.

Cool about the belt holes. The belt is a great way to measure true success.

Isn't that a great feeling being able to punch new holes in the belt.
Pretty soon you will have to be buying a new one or cutting that one.  You will find that it starts to wrap abound you.

I can sympathize with the lethargy and energy.  I am still feeling that way from time to time.  I agree that it is the food intake and fluids.  I still get dizzy if I get up too quick, but that is much more infrequent if I stay really well hydrated.

Good luck and keep up the great work.

Scott
