Are there any Private Pilots here?

I was wondering how the FAA looks at WLS. My medical has run out, still actively flying, just not as PIC. After I am release from doctor, want to go get my medical caught up to date.

Hello Ken, although I am not a PP (yet), one of my goals for WLS is to be at a weight where I don't have to worry about exceeding the usable load on a trainer.  I would love to hear what the results are for your medical and how the WLS can or did effect it.  Good Luck.

I think your blood pressure medicines and dibetes medicine would be your only problems getting your medical. Big BONER

I don't have nor ever had any of those medications.

I really think medicals are stupid. they are not required for driving a car 70mph down a crowded road. And for our seniors that have the reaction time of a snail. Anyway, my vent of the day, but Iam sure I will have more...

WLS should not affect your medical, from what I have read on AOPA. It is mainly meds or high blood pressure that cause guys to loose their ticket. If you are good there, you should be fine.

What do you fly?

I just sold my cessna 172, now I am flying a Cessna 182 with friends

I have a buddy with a 182, and love them. While only a few inches wider, it feels like you are sitting in the Astrodome, compared to the 172.

Yeah, you gotta love the 182. My other buddy has a 172XP, it is nice but like the 182 better.
