Did Some People Just Assume This About You As A Pre-Op?
I got a call yesterday from a former client of mine from a few years back, before I had my WLS .. He had tracked me down from my old employer to my new one to see about hiring me on a new matter .. "Joseph": is a self-employed debt collector and one of those high-energy, naturally skinny guys (lucky bastid!)

Joseph and I were chatting along on the phone (he did not know about my WLS or weight loss, btw) .. At one point in his talking to me he searched to come up with an analogy to express to me how very busy his business had been of late .. He finally rattled off something, laughingly, like, "I've been working as much as you eat!" ..
WTF???
"Joseph", despite being a client, had never dined with me before .. Nor had I ever mentioned my eating habits to him as a pre-op ..
He was apparently just assuming that because I was SO I must have been a consumer of huge amounts of food, and did so continuously or something back then ..
(O.K., well maybe I did eat a lot, but he had no way of knowing whether that was the case or not with me - many MO and even SO do not "consume massive quantities of groceries" on a continuous basis, to paraphrase The Coneheads
)
I kinda paused a bit in our conversation, not knowing how to respond to such a "presumptive" comment ..
Composing myself, I then proceeded to clue Joseph in, using a little more tact than he had shown me -- "Joseph, I think you'll find I'm not quite the same person you knew 3 years ago .. "
Some people!

I love when people mention fatness to me, but not in so many words. I just sit there and with slightly meaner face say "What are you trying to say I'm fat?!??!". They start freaking out right away going "no, no blah blah". Then I smile and say I'm kidding and they're full of **** cause I know I'm fat.
It's quite fun! Especially with fresh shaven head cause I just look mean and intimidating then.

Well, what's funny is when it was all said and done, it turned out he was actually trying to "stone soup" me into handling a small legal matter for him for no charge .. I should've said, "well, I just don't know .. ALL THAT FOOD I HAVE TO EAT is pretty expensive these days, ya know, Joseph .. " bwa ha ha! &8-(
