I'm 5 months out sorta, and can eat everything except shell fish, i.e. shrimp, lobster, clams, etc., sashimi, and extra spicy foods.  Other than that - everything goes including sugar, but I don't do the breads anymore but can do a couple of spoonfuls of baked potatoes slathered in butter and a few chips.  My fave is Steak and Shake Chili from Walmart or Bumble Bee Ham, FF Tuna, Chicken salad.  Anybody every try the fishies in a can or those little hot dogs that come in a can, can't remember their exact name.

For our sleeves, dense, protein-rich type foods seem to really fill us up fast, like steak, hamburger, etc.   I've eaten too much too fast of those before, and suffered runny nose, watery eyes, hiccups, and even urping up of saliva (ejected tobacco chewin' style into a cup  ) as an unpleasant result ..

For those of us with DS, we try to avoid white flour products and, usually, rice (esp. white) rice b/c of bloating and/or gas issues with them ..     same for sugary stuff ..

Many DSers and RNYers (myself included) also develop lactose intolerance after surgery ..  If we do we tend to avoid milk products then, w. the exception of cheese/butter (for DSers) ..  to avoid gas and/or diarrhea ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

Chicken is rough on me. Sometimes its OK, but usually gets stuc****oasted bread is usually a trip to the porcelin. Forget h-burgers or steak.

Ground sausage or beef, pork tenderloin, well chewed salads, soups of all kinds work well, and my new found love - seafood! I never cared for seafood pre-op - now I love it. High protien, easy on the tummy.

Any high-protein meat which is low fat (i.e. chicken/turkey breast, pork, shrimp, etc.) used to clog up my pouch hole (stoma) something fierce. The solution was to mix it with a little low-fat mayonnaise and problem solved. No more foamies.

For most meat, I have to keep the bites about the size of a peanut and chew it to a vapor!  Wendy's chile goes down pretty well.
