Attention from females

I know there have been similar topics to this, but they didn't really answer the questions I have with this. I"m a year post op and recently, I have gotten a fair amount of attention from women. However, it makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I don't feel like I'm getting a big head from it, but more of the what do I do, how do I act, why are they doing this type of thing. Like last evening at the bar, I had 2 women who started feeling my ass up... In my mind I was like WTF! and then didn't really know how to react to it.. How do you deal with the uneasy feelings from this attention?

Pray that you're not dreaming, I'd say.

And make sure they weren't dudes in drag!    &:-D)

(sorry, but when gals pay attention to ME anymore, I just don't trust 'em)

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

Uhh, "Your place or mine?"  No, seriously, I know what you mean.  I posted in my blog just the other day about a business trip I was on last week.  Part of the job last week was running training sessions for new employees within our agency.  I had only met 1 of the 14 students before I arrived.  Well, one of the female students approached me during a break and started making small talk.  About 3 minutes into the coversation she looked up at me (I'm 6'1", she's maybe 5'2") and said "Boy, I'd like to climb you like a tree!"  My mouth fell open and the only thing I could come up with at the time was "huh?" To which she replied "You heard me, you long tall glass of milk" folllowed by several suggestive grunts.  I coudn't believe it!  I almost passed out.  I have N.E.V.E.R. been hit on-never.  I've always had to be the one who introduced myself and hoped and prayed that she could look past the fact that I was fat.  This isn't the only incident, but this is by far the most extreme!

Add this to the fact that I am married with kids, huge mortgage, and a fairly hot wife (If I say so myself).  So, I'm torn as to what I should do. I wish this could have happened about 15 years ago; my early 20's could have been much more adventurous!

What I do now when it happens...is enjoy it.  I love to flirt and I enjoy the company of attractive women (duh), so I just let it ride and play along...to a point.  I was at my part time job the other morning when one of the female employees approached me and commented on my shirt.  She ran her hands up and down my chest and stomach commenting on how soft my shirt was and that it looked great on me. I damn near popped wood right then and there!  She meant nothing by it and we had a great time talking smack for a few minutes..and that's all.  Now, if she had threw herself on one of the boxes in the back room and ripped her shirt off...I would have had to (uh, uh..hard to say) walk away.  Yeah, my wife, kids, and house are more important to me than a little afternoon delight, at least right now LOL.

Wrapping your mind around the mental side of WLS is harder than the physical side.  Your thinking why are you giving me attention.  Why didn't you give me this attention when I was on the otherside of 300#.  Pretty women will make eye contact with you.  You are treated better in business situations.  It goes on and on.  Some men (and women) go off the deep end.  They go heavy into alcohol, drugs, or sexual addictions trying to cope with these issues.  Much higher than the national average.  You really need to be grounded in this area or you can fall fast.  If you have a chance, try and see the Operha (sp) show on WLS.  I believe they were off on the numbers, but their general ideas were right concerning coping.  Hang on for the ride.  Brian

From the show...
For some gastric bypass patients, the surgery emotionally bypasses the real reason they were overweight. If a patient drops a lot of weight without confronting why they were overweight, they risk becoming addicted to something else. Experts call this swap of one compulsive behavior for another "addiction transfer."

Drinking alcohol can be especially dangerous for post-surgery patients because any alcohol consumed bypasses the old stomach and is rapidly absorbed right into the bloodstream, which makes their blood alcohol level spike. Because gastric bypass patients can't eat as much food, there's very little in the stomach to slow the absorption of the alcohol down. Many patients say they start to feel drunk almost instantly.

The drinking alcohol thing happened to me BIG TIME this past week.  Several of my coworkers and I went out one night and I had a grand total of 2 beers.  Yeah, 2.  I was drunk off my ass within minutes.  This from a guy who took alcohol consumption to an art form in my younger days.  It was my first drink since surgery and probably my last.  I can't be having that.  My behavior was bordering on "inappropriate".

Yeah, I have noticed my tolerance with alcohol is low, but not like 1 or 2 beers low... Thank god I have someone driving when I am drinking..

HELLO MY NAME IS.. AND YOU ARE???? I would say the an introduction would be the next step after that.  I know we're really not that used to that kind of attention. Some community colleges have social behavior classes available.. Maybe trying one of the those would make you feel more comfortable. You need some confidence....
