hair lose
I am at my three month out mark. last week I yelled at my wife about all the hair in the drain, and she told me that it was mine. i when to get my hair cut and normal I have it thinned out, but today she said that my hair was thinning out.
I knew that this was going to happen because I sucked at getting the 60 grams of protien at the start. So hear is my question, How much and for how long will I lose my hair. Should I just shave my head? I do have normally very thick hair.
thanks for your help

Oh,, not that I dont sympathies but I started loosing mine at 19... It never came back so thats not a concern of mine. But, I can relate. I would think from what I read and what you're telling me more protein might help you. If you're not getting the 60 they tell you to get how can you increase that? I have heard that for some lucky SOBs it comes back.. Im sure through the board you'll get an answer that will help. But, Bald isnt so bad.. You do get used to it after a while.

The hair loss, if it happens, usually starts about 3-5 months out .. No telling how long it will go on, or whether it will eventually grow back, but it usually does (fortunately)
Don't know if it would do any good as far as damage control this late, but to try to prevent or slow down the loss, in addition to the protein intake, try taking biotin and zinc piccolinate supps .. (I think I read that chromium supps help too) ..
Before WLS, about the only thing I had going for me was my "thick curly hair" seems like .. But I guess I gladly trade my thinner/shorter/flatter hair now for the 210 less pounds and no diabetes .. ! /:-)
