Major setback

Well, its been awhile since my last post.  I had open RNY on Oct 28th.  Everthing seemed to go well.  Went home, couldn't kick a constant fever, went back to the hosp a week later and the readmitted me, seems I has a small absyss that leaked and was infected.  Surgeon opened me back up, removed the absyss, put in 2 drainage tubes and am now only getting food through a feeding tube.  I'm currently in rehad for another 10 days, go back to the surgeon and then see if I can start the RNY stage 1 diet at that time. 

Gotta say, the last 2 weeks have been hell and I surely didn't expect any of this, but I suspect when I'm up and running again, I look back on this and hope it was all worth it.

Sorry to hear about your journey getting off to rough start but it sounds like you have it back righted and back under way!

Whoa that is terrible!  I sure hope that you will be feeling better very soon!

Todd go buy a lottery ticket I think the complication are rare so with your luck maybe a lottery ticket can turn things around. Hope you get better and this becomes a uneventful distant memory! C'ya Rocky Top

I'm sorry you had this major setback.  I happy that you are able to see past the hell you are in and keep your chin up... looking forward past tihs difficult time to when the benefits will start kicking in.  Thanks for sharing what is happening and reaching out to others.

Really sorry to hear about your complications Todd. Take care of yourself and hopefully this will soon be a distant memory on your ride to a new and healthier you.  Hang in there buddy!
