I just need some help MEN!

Ok this is some real strange ish happening with my body, I dont really eat a lot of food but I am gaining weight at an incrdible rate. On Wednesday I was wearing my size 46 pants a lil snug, Saturday nite I could not fit them anymore WTF. Today I have on some 50's and they are tight as hell, I mean is there someway possible that I could have gained 20olbs in 4 days?

Here is my daily meal plan:

Oatmeal, Turkey Bacon, Coffee (started drinking it black)

lunch meals varies at times

dinner varies also.

My 12 year old son eats more than I do, I called the WLS and they have scheduled me for 12/4/ to be seen. I may talk crazy and joke around a lot(about crackers & stuff) but this is scaring me for real. I dont go to the gym often but I walk a lot at work and try to stay active as much as I can.

Has anyone ever had this happen?

20 lbs in 4 days? Are you moving your bowels? 20 lbs in 4 days is impossible unless you are A) retaining water, or B) not moving your bowels (either enough or at all).

Also gas issues can make you feel bloated....so my advice is to figure out which of the above is causing the issue and address it.

Retaining water: low salt diet and LOTS of water will flu**** out
Bowel issues: Fiber, and some MOM
Gas issues: Avoid dairy and other gas causing foods, take some gas X and possibly a prescription of flagyl if it doesn't go away.

Reality check...are you cheating??  Just askings.  You didn't say anything about carbs, sugar, or fats.  I started adding more and more to my diet after reaching goal...gained 25 pounds very quickly.  Sorry...really have no ideas, if your not cheating.  The old diet and exercise...what you have heard preached to you since childhood.  Brian  PS Could it be medical...a tumor or something?

Both answers above address both main issues.  Scotts is based on the reality of most people's body physics.  If neither one's advice strikes home, you need to see your doctor asap.  Best of luck.

My first thought is are you retaining fluid.  Are you ankles swollen?  Getting short of breath more easily than normal?   If you answer yes to any of the questions you should see your primary before the December appointment.

Are you drinking your water to cleanse your system?  Are you eating every 2.5 hours?  getting your protein in?  Something isn't right, see your Doctor, ASAP!

Seeing the doctor is a good idea, but also make an appointment with your NUT.  3 meals a day isnt enough to keep metabolism going at full strength. Lunch and dinner varies?????  thats a cop-out.  Lunch and diner are easy, 4 oz of protien, a vegie and some carbs.  Before your appointment you should consider keeping a diary of everything you eat for a week or so and take it with you.

The first thing I would do is keep a daily journal of my nutrition and exercise.  Be completely honest and write down EVERYTHING you eat or drink. After a few days, the journal will allow you to pinpoint any problems, such as eating too much in total, eating too many carbs, not eating enough protein, not getting enough fluids, etc.  Exercise is critical, IMO.  If nothing else, just walk at a brisk pace for at least 20-30 minutes every day.

If after you do that and do not see any areas where you are screwing up or are at fault, I would definitely se the Doc and Nutritionist.
